    Why would it be absurd? 🤔 That's where tech is going. That's exactly what we need... Technology today is just simple machinery basically, with little "intelligence". AI is what's needed to make it smarter and more interconnected and integrated with other tech. We have fantastic inventions on the horizon.

    The VR claim has me concerned. If people think they're going to get the same experience as VR users with headsets, that won't be the case. They won't have the same freedom of motion as VR users, which will limit the kinds of experiences they'll be able to enjoy. Older tech demo-y apps like theBlu where you don't actually move around that much is the most you'll be able to do. Games like Half-Life Alyx, Bonelabs, Into the Radius, VR Chat, not happening.

  • @AntonMaslo

    @AntonMaslo

    5 ай бұрын

    @@TheZorch It is individual, but I'd prefer a nice monitor with head/eye-tracking over a sweaty box on my face. VR is cool, but I struggle to enjoy it for more than 10-15 minutes in one sitting. I also prefer cockpit-based games (if not already obvious), and loved VR the most in those, since they don't put extra demands on space around my desk (= no blindly bumping into things). So, this would be different for sure, but for some people (e.g. me) preferable.

    Yes, but back in the day practically no one had a computer that could take advantage of this technology rather than watching movies and native 3D games were niche so most of the time it was through some post processing implementation that could lead to varied results, nowadays the average ¨gaming¨ computer is more than capable of running a game at high settings in 3D @1080p and beyond since powerful hardware has become so affordable, also that those old 3D displays had a shitty image quality in order to display the 3D content, this one ¨new¨ 3D display probably runs at least at 1440p while its on 3D and comes with all the other fancy stuff modern ¨gaming¨ displays have today so that also helps a lot to push 3D again in the market.

    3D gaming was great if you could get the equipment together. I had a 3D plasma TV a little over a decade ago and a GPU that supported 3D, coupled with a D3D wrapper software for DX9 and DX11 (TriDef 3D, long gone now) you could basically play most any game in 3D. I distinctly remember how much it added to Skyrim, the Fallout games, Mafia 2, Bioshock, etc. Yes you had to wear active-shutter glasses for the TV, and yes you had to keep them charged, but in a time where the Oculus wasn't even available outside the DKs, being able to move in game worlds in a true stereoscopic 3D (not some predictive AI pseudo-3D mind you, but ACTUAL twice-rendered stereoscopic 3D) was genuinely incredible.

    Rog Nuc is amazing for the adults that travel a lot or on the road or even deployments and still want to game. While a gaming laptop might be as good its a very nice thing to still have.

    I use a nuc for self hosting free cable access, some ai tools, and a bunch of pirated content. For traveling, I have a big properly cooled home computer with a 4090 in it that acts as a distributed gaming device through the program Moonlight and a sleek Logitech G Cloud gaming tablet. Just a suggestion for my homies on an unshackled uncompromised portable gaming device harnessing the best gpu in the world currently with super long battery and thinness.

    They haptic seat thing is actually pretty exciting for sim racing. Much cleaner solution than sone thing like butt kickers. Maybe cheaper too

    I’ll second this, don’t know bout this Razer chair pad yet but I can say that buttkickers def add an excellent level of immersion to sim racing or any game where piloting a vehicle. Feels more like you’re in something that’s moving in the real world

    I'm glad there's at least SOME tech expos. Since we lost E3. We need things pushing the limits of Tech. Hopefully gaming gets added more & more to it. (I've always thought a shadow box Rotoscoping effect style display would be really interesting. Instead of a 3D display)
