The suptig floaty stick I think with the storage compartment I can add just a small amount of lead weight and it will float near you when you let go and not rocket to the surface. If your snorkeling its fine but if your are diving deeper and need a safety stop it will float away before your get to it. With a little weight inside the handle you could make it neutrally buoyant.

You use underwater ball mount clamps, they are on Amazon fairly priced. As for the light, many lights come with ball mounts on them. Or you can get generic ball mount flashlight adapters that will fit a variety of flashlight diameters. What's nice about the ball mounts is you can use extensions to get the lights out wider, this will give you more even lighting and much less backscatter in your image. Joe Oceanside last question and I'll leave you alone. The 5 light are there times you would need different colored lights?? Does it help to bring out colors of fish and coral? Trying to improve my image quality of underwater videos any way I can.

@@Synergywellnessny underwater I would never use the different colors. The regular white light will bring out vibrant colors from coral and fish if you are close enough. The only thing I would use the different colors for would be accent lighting for the background of a KZread video possibly. Maybe use the red color while on the boat at night so as not too diminish my night vision. Other than that I don't see any use for the different colors.

Just yesterday I got my 72 led 5 color suptig light. It was $39.99 & said on amazon 147' but on the box it comes in says 164'. Just curious since I do not dive what different colors on the light should I use for certain situations. I want to get some under water shots of me catching fish on the great lake by lowering my hero 8 next to the boat just before I land the fish. Also what accessory should I get to lower it into the water & keep secure? Thanks

I just ordered this selfie stick, I am going to try it out, it could work for lowering gopro into the water. amzn.to/2YmtDRw I would normally just use regular white light. The colored lights I'm not sure what the best use is. How clear is the water you are using it in?

@@JoeOceanside Water is usually pretty murky and it's also greenish color a lot of times to Lake Erie mostly Lake Michigan would be blue

It should be. The mounts are still the same. The gopro 8 has the mounts built into the camera so a cage/case is not required to attach the camera to accessories. Of course if you want it to be water proof past a few meters you will use the super suit and that too has the same gopro mounts that will work with all the older gopro accessories. I like to use 2.7k at 60 fps. If your computer can't handle editing 2.7k than 1080 is usually fine. 60 fps is good for underwater because you can slow footage down by %50 when fish swim by. Make sure the stabilization is on, and all the exposure settings just leave on auto unless you plan on color correcting. Maybe I will make a video on this topic. Thanks for watching!

@@JoeOceanside how do you slow footage down by 50%? Is that on post editing? Or while filming? Does the slow footage down do it by itself or I have to press a button while filming? This is my very first time using gopro

@@luispaz27 the slow motion will be done in the editing. You actually can do some basic editing in the Gopro app, it's good enough to make short clips for your social media. If you want to want to do some basic editing you could also look into software like Adobe premiere elements. In order for you to slow your footage down you must set your camera up with the correct frame rate. If you film in 30 frames per second you will not be able to slow it down. If you film in 60 fps you will be able to slow it by 50%. If you film in 120 fps you will be able to slow it down to 25%. So the higher the frame rate, the slower you are able to make the footage. Just keep in mind though, higher frame rates will use alot more storage on your memory card and will probably drain the camera battery faster. I find that 60 fps is a good setting for snorkeling and scuba diving. Look on KZread for a video explaining frame rates and slow motion, there are a lot of good videos that can explain it better than I can. Hope this helps you!

I actually have not used any filters on any of my KZread videos. On the videos of deep dives I will do a little correcting in my video editing software. Very soon I will invest in some filters, I will make a video about it when I do. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

There’s not a lot of reviews on hero 8 regarding dive filters. Most of the reviews are from 5,6,7. Even when I checked amazon for reviews, I did not find any good ones.

so if you mount your gopro over your head. the bubble gonna destroy the footage unless you do free diving. so that's not good. the gopro just overall sucks not because of the video quality . it's because of the lens. the distortion just kills the footage.

I mount it on the headstrap sometimes when scuba diving, the bubbles do not interfere unless you were standing vertically which you would rarely do while scuba diving. Yes the gopro is not perfect but the 8 black is pretty amazing, especially for the price, and the stabilization is phenomenal. Thanks for watching

@@gavincopley367 I do not use any filters, for shallow 0-15 ft a red filter is not necessary. For deeper it could be useful, I just have not bought one yet for the 8. On my other videos I try to use a dive light to bring the color back or color correct in premiere pro. Thanks for watching!
