It was me that told you about Bruce not working a day in his life. I just picked up his debut album on vinyl this morning. I'm pleased you pronounce 'Powerage' as 'Power-Age'. Some people pronounce it in the same way you pronounce 'leverage' or 'beverage', which loses the word--play of Power Rage. That gets me in a rage.

Fantastic eclectic mix of albums. Just thinking back to 1978, in the UK anyway, which was so tribal about music (I'm sure that's probably true for the U.S.A. as well, more or less?) you would never get those albums in the same collection! Your typical Elvis Costello fan woud probably look down his or her nose at Judas Priest and AC/DC. I think that's one positive about the here and now, it's possible to listen and enjoy records and evaluate records on their own merits and not be influnced by what a music snob friend thinks or what the NME has written. Anyway, I thought that was a great selection and definitely not predictable, a great watch.

And then those transitions of Moving In Stereo amd All Mixed Up...damn! Sooo good. I'm spinning it right now dude. Thanks 😄. P.S. Totally agree with your list. Powerage is so incredible strong song wise (sin city, gimme me a bullet, gone shooting) and also sound wise (no Mutt Lange polished production as later). On the OG vinyl of Powerage there is also the killer song Cold hearted man, which is not on CD! Honourable mentions wound be IMHO the first Police and Van Halen. Also Externally Yours by the Saints would be in my Top Ten and Jesus of Cool by Mr. Lowe. Need to check your no. 1 (Siouxie & the B.). Oh, i forgot So alone by Johnny Thunders with back up from Steve Jones, Paul Cook, Phil Lynott, Steve Marriot etc. This record aged very well for me, when you are able to tolerate the whining voice of Johnny.😅 Nice video and please no audiofool stuff anymore. 😜.

Cool rant Rich. Got that Cars debut on CD, don't know if I would put in a top 10 but it is excellent. First heard the Springsteen album a few years after when my late aunt sent me a copy. Listened to it and couldn't really figure it out or why she gave it to me, she had never gifted me anything remotely music related before. Anyway in one format or another it has remained in the collection. Elvis Costello is another stellar pick but they are all great. Funny as in the 80's I thought the 70's sucked for music but now that decade makes up probably at least half my music collection. Cheers Rich!

I was 19. So 1978 *should* be golden music memories and the best culture of the century or ever since. That's the theory, isn't it - - old farts prefer the culture that was contemporaneous to their prime and interpret progress as all downhill as *we* go downhill. Well at 19 this old fart already knew the culture was on the skids and unlikely ever to recover. I was growing fast but the culture was shrinking, and my sustenance was yesterday's music and yesterday's books and a big tank of a manual typewriter. The best of it was the Sixties and the penultimate best was the Fifties because it was the eve of something happening. A teen, and nostalgic already - - I *knew* what 1978 would be like because 1974, 75, 76 and 77 were shit too. A pattern was developing. The Eighties was such a booby trap that we've all been trapped in the Eighties ever since. So it turns out there's no such thing as progress, not for the last half century or the foreseeable future. All that triggered by a V-R selection! I'll try to be upbeat next time, though it might require cranes and haulage equipment. I did buy 'Baker Street' 45 rpm in 1978, does that count? Go, Jets. Go, V-R.
