10 Before and After Decor Flips - Turn Thrift Store Junk Into Beautiful Decor

In today’s video I will show 10 before and after thrift store pieces that I flipped. These pieces were discarded junk when I saw them at my local Goodwill store and I turned this thrift store junk into beautiful decor pieces. I found these 10 items and flipped them into beautiful French country decor, farmhouse accent pieces, cottage style/cottage core, cute decorating items. Watch this DIY video as I show you how to use chalk paint, air dry clay, iron orchid design stamps, shabby fabric, and other crafting items to transform these discarded outdated items into usable and sellable decor pieces. I’ll show how I recycle these Thrifted items as well as before and after pictures of each one later in the video. Be inspired to craft your own cute cottage decor from old or thrifted pieces!

I know. I really had a hard time committing to repainting that beautiful chippy finish. I wanted it for hanging beside my front door with flowers in it but the mint green did not go very well with my house trim. So…I took the plunge and painted it….

Can wax be used as the top coat for chalk paint, or must it be sealed with an acrylic sealer?

Wax can certainly be used as a topcoat for chalk paint. And I used to use it a lot more than I do now. I find that the polyacrylic or other clear matte topcoats have a quicker drying/curing time. Wax takes a day or two to cure on small items and on larger furniture pieces I usually allow two weeks to a month for it to be completely cured and ready for normal use. It takes a little time for the wax to be absorbed into the chalk paint and form a hard, protective coating. That’s just been my experience from painting furniture over the last 10 years or so. 🙂❣️
