This is a great reminder of how versatile the 1/2 square triangle is. Rest In Peace Melanie, your legacy lives on in Gods creative world. I hope your family is doing ok, as time and birthdays come and go, you are forever in the hearts of family, friends and strangers like me.You are serving even in death. I plan to meet you some day, “when the roll is called up yonder” cause I’ll be there.
I followed Melanie from her first videos. She was a great teacher. I learned so much from her about quilting 😢 Will continue to watch her videos, pray for your family, and remember we will see her again 🙏🏽
You are truly missed Melanie. ❤️🙏🏽
I can across this account yesterday while searching for some suggestions on half square triangles… I am fairly new to quilting. This was the first of Melanie’s videos I had ever seen and I was immediately vibing with her account. I actually thought in my head… how is it I have not come across any other videos yet?! I am on KZread every day looking for quilting tips, tricks and tutorials. As soon as I finished watching this video, I immediately gave it the thumbs up and subscribed to this channel! Then of course I had to go check out all of the other videos she had posted and came across the story of her life and her passing… I could not stop bawling… I am so grateful that this channel is still up and that she still has a way to connect with her crafty friends here. Of course I never knew her, but I can tell you that her smile was contagious, and she seemed to be a warrior in her fight for life. I am also certain she is missed by many.::
Even though you are eternally resting you continue to teach through your videos. thank you for continuing to inspire!

Thank you so much for this!! I was stuck and needed a simple, quick baby quilt pattern. Now I have ten options!
These were so fun. Glad you made these videos. So easy to understand. Rest easy.
She continues to amaze me! She was and is such a fantastic and generous teacher! I want to join her sewing club in heaven!
I so miss you! ❤ I watch so many of your videos to learn and to remember you!😢
That was an amazing video showing the different designs. Melanie was so talented. ❤️X
You will be missed Melanie xo
Loving the videos I'm watching them all do I can learn.
You were truly a remarkable teacher
It's like you were reading my mind. **staring at the 166 HSTs I just made** Thanks so much!
Thank you! My head is spinning with the possibilities. My mom has some early cognitive issues. She has made many beautiful quilts for all of us. But she's not doing it anymore. She has a huge stash of partially completed projects, including a large number of half triangle squares. I'm going to make something, or a few somethings, from her pieces, and that way it's a wonderful collaboration.

@@Zzzzzzzzz216 I haven't yet figured out how best to use her HSTs, but I've been using some of her fabric in other projects like a lap quilt, some masks. Right now I'm working on a basic patchwork with flannels. It's super soft!

So fun!! I just started sewing these, and it is amazing all you can do with such a simple unit. The diamonds and chevrons are my favorite..💛

Thanks Melanie for showing us so many options. Hoping all is well. Stay safe💕
I'm a beginner quilter, and this was amazing to me! By the time you got to #7 I was saying WOW... This was so helpful. I subscribed.

Thank you for sharing. Love HST- great ideas!!
Wow, so many layouts! My favourite was number 3!
Thank you Melanie! I’ve just made some for a Christmas quilt, and this gave me so many ideas. Hope you are doing well. Love your videos
Thank you! This the best description of how to look at possibilities with regard to simple shapes in patchwork. Using the same blocks to show the versatility over many styles is inspired.
Oh Melanie, how we miss you!
I’ve been doing more quilting lately and your series has been beyond helpful.. you have no idea! Thank you so much! Really love all of the videos!
Thanks. Love them all
Thank you! I’m just finishing a Mystery Quilt with string blocks that are half-square triangles! Now maybe I can decide on a design!
Great way to show many different layouts...thank you! Fun video and so doable for beginners.
Love all of these ideas.
LOVE how you showed different layouts using same HST but not necessarily using specific coordinating chosen fabrics. It mixes it up , charm packs which is exactly what I was looking for as a very novice, beginner quilter. TYSM!!! Those work out perfectly for the squares that I have as I don't have one or two specific patterns to use
Great video Melanie. So many ideas, quick and easy.
Amazing, HSTs can make us look really smart and accomplished. 🤪 Thanks Melanie
Thank you I'm new at quilting and I love the half square triangles love love love them so now I have ideas for more lay outs. You explain things so nicely
Love love this video!! I have a gazillion made & needed more inspiration! Thank you 😊
Great video! And no beating about the bush! thank you so much 😘
Thank you so much, Melanie. I’ve saved your video and I’m going to try them all. I loved no 9 especially. No more buying templates to make HST’s Amazing! I’m a beginner and this is just what I needed! Once again, thank you so much 😊
I found this video when I was looking for a project for my latest grand baby. It turned out so pretty, I’m making another one just for fun. All these layouts are fabulous- it’s hard to make just one 😄
Thank you for your work 💙🤗 You rock! I had the pinwheel idea (I'm a beginner quilter) but couldn't nail it quite down in my mind. Thank you for laying the pattern out. I'm starting my project now.
Thank you for a wonderful video! Getting ready to make a quilt for our new grandson who's coming soon. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
I’m gonna miss your videos Melanie. Rest In Peace dear 😔
Your videos have helped me so much. You explain things in a way that I can understand it easily. I'm just starting out and I used your "my first quilt" series as a guide. I'm happy with my results!
I just learnt how to put together half square triangles! This was super helpful for a newbie like me. I want to make a pretty quilt and these are easy to master! Thank you for sharing! 😊
We miss you Melanie
What a great video! So much fun to watch you switch them around. I love them all. If I had to pick a favorite it would be #9, or #3, or #8 plus all the chevrons. It would be fun to make them all. I am glad I stumbled onto you and will be watching more of your videos! Happy Stitching! PamC
Great video ❤ I miss this beautiful lady.
Wow and double wow. I am still in the middle of watching your video, but have stopped to say a big THANK YOU. You have totally inspired me, this is without doubt something I will try over the next few weeks. Happy quilting x
Such a great tutorial
You are an angel Mel! I am about to stsrt cutting fabric for my first quilt and i was loosing momentum bc I was getting caught up in having my design first. After watching this single video, I feel confident and excited again to play with the contrast designs. Thank you!
Thank you Melanie!! Love this tutorial! You are so precious ! Hugs 🤗 Cathy
Very helpful. I’m new at quilting & currently needing LOTS of practice making accurate hst’s. In fact I just made some using the 8’s method & they came out a 1/2 inch smaller than I had hoped. I’m trying to use up solid batik charms & will now have to cut them down to make them work with my hst’s. I wasn’t sure I wanted to cut them down so your video gives me great options. Thank you so much!
Melanie ~ I have literally been subscribed to you for years! I believe you were actually the first crafter/quilter/sewer I watched way back when! I love your style :) I am so glad to be back into my quilting after a few years away and I just had to come and watch some of your videos first!! Love ya, girl! Peace and Blessings!! This was such a great video idea ~ Thanks for taking the time to create it!
Thanks Melanie for inspiring my next projects!
#6,with the solids in between. #7 the chevron. #8. Ooh,#9! Saving this video to use one style for my next quilt. Thank you, Melanie!
Love being able to see all the different options with this. Also, if you can talk more about your design board and where to get one or make one? Thanks so much! :)
Loved this! Thank you for these ideas!
Love these, Thank you! You rock!
That’s amazing how many different patterns you get out of the same blocks 😱 I loved each one of them 😍 Thank you for showing them ♥️
