10 Asana features you may have missed
Asana, while being simple and easy to use, is a powerful project management tool (when you know what you're doing). It's packed with features and clients of mine are often surprised when I point out some of these lesser-known or obvious features:
1. Multi-home tasks and subtasks.
1.Tasks inherit the properties of the other project.
2. Subtasks inherit the properties of a regular task e.g. appear on the timeline.
2. Add a video recording to a task (via Vimeo + Chrome). I have a whole video on this.
3. OCR text into Asana using the smartphone app.
4. Record an audio note and create a transcription in a task using the smartphone app.
5. Provide feedback on images (requires Business).
6. You can whitelist additional emails to forward from multiple addresses into Asana.
7. Share a public link to a project to share with external parties so they can view the project.
8. Click on someone's name and you can create a private 1:1 project.
9. Goal progress can now auto-calculate based on sub-goal or project/task completion.

Hi @paulminors . Have been trying to figure out - but never found a way to assign IDs to bugs. Do you know - if it is possible? I am trying to figure out if we can ditch other tools and use Asana for bug / defect tracking - however need it to them automatically assign bug / defect ID to each bug/defect added to a project. The important thing is that the IDs should allow for some basic customization - so we can create some rule of how the ID numbers should be assigned. However, if customization is not possible - can asana auto create IDs at all? or not yet?

This is something we've done with other clients using Zapier. One option is to use a truncated task ID as the bug ticket ID.
Hi Paul, do you know if you can connect projects/teams to multiple Asana *accounts*? E.g., A marketing agency uses Asana and so does one of their clients - is there a way to push projects/milestones/tasks etc. from the agency's asana into the client's asana, to avoid duplicate entry and keep projects visible in both businesses?

Have a look at Unito.io. It can be used to sync a project between two Asana accounts.
Have started following your useful videos. New to Asana. Can tasks initially created in "My tasks" be moved to a project without it being duplicated in 2 places? My inbox of "My Tasks" is getting very long!!

Yes, you can add a task from your My Tasks to a project. It doesn't create a duplicate, it's just adding it to the project so it has somewhere to live.
Hi, at 12:36 the voice to text is amazing. I cant seem to find it on my Iphone or on an android device - I wonder why?

The best way to find anything is to use the search bar at the top.
Is the "Create 1:1 Project" new? We're on the business plan and don't see that option within our instance currently?

Your account has to be an 'Organisation' not a 'Workspace'. If you check your account settings, you can see what you currently have.

My account is an organization and I don't see the record feature either in Premium

@@minor-co - Yep. We have an Organization set up so all members with our domain can automatically join. Is this an old feature or?

Hm, that's odd. My only other thought is maybe it's a new feature that isn't fully rolled out yet.

@@minor-co Can you only have (1) 1:1 project active? I was able to create this for one of my direct reports. But now, I don't see that option available for anyone else on my team
