Awesome boat! The planning and execution took time and adjusting on the fly(covid), and the result is amazing. The drapes and bed layout is my favorite, really like the way the drapes and king size bed work and give it a big open feeling on a narrow boat. Great job! 0:46 of all the narrowboat channels I have watched yours is the most well designed, well decorated, uncluttered, and homely that I have seen. My parents had a narrowboat in the 70s - 90s and I spent many an enjoyable holiday aboard. I now live in Central Thailand and get much comfort from viewing these videos. I completely agree. I never knew narrow boats could be that comfortable. Double glazed windows as well (why people don’t get them?). Keep sounds out and heat in.

Just found your channel and I’m loving it, We are holidaying near foxton locks in June and came across your channel while searching. I have been watching lots of narrowboat videos (although I doubt that I will ever be buying one, as my wife doesn't like the idea of being on one! 😢) but I will say that your boat is the best layout that I have seen! You have plenty of space where it matters, lots of practicality built in, and the boat looks warm and comfortable! I just LOVE it! ❤

Lovely boat, I thought you did a wonderful job with the layout and customizing it to your needs, I'm always amazed that there isn't move congestion on the canal from kayakers or kids cooling off in the water on tubes or other floating toys. Keep up the great work!!

Even though narrow boating is not my thing (I am not aptly sized for anything narrow lol), I love seeing the layout and organisation. Having built the boat to you7r spec means it's exactly what works for you and you can see that in the amazingly well thought out design. Some folks might want more "saloon" space, but this is what works for you. Thanks for the in depth tour - that is exactly what my curiosity wanted :)

Well done and designed, how do you find getting in and out of the bed? We want to change our layout to a crossover and it’s the one thing which concerns me (although it’s a similar issue when one of us is against the wall) also, we are both 5’8”, not tall whatsoever, how do you find it compared to a domestic length mattress? Cheers for the vlog

Thanks for watching. Rob is just over 5ft 8” which is fine, feet just touch wall when completely outstretched but depends on gunnels. So would depend how you sleep. We haven’t had any issues. Getting in and out is fine too. We are really pleased with it and one of the best decisions we made 👍🏼

We have a king size cross bed too, and it was one of our best decisions! As long as neither of you are over about 5’10 then it’s the way to go for sure 😊

Coming from a 45 ft sailboat, this is just fascinating. Your choices and thought process in configuring was/is great. My wife would want to know who gets the side of the bed closest to the bathroom? I guess someone must crawl over someone in the middle of the night? Thank you for sharing your home with us.

What a STUNNING boat in every way. I went quite 'green' whilst watching. We recently sold our boat that had been built in 1983. It needed so, do much eork doing to it that it spoilt the whole boating life, although we ADORED being on the cut. The joy & privilege of having a new build must bring such joy.. wishing youva wonderful life.

Only suggestion I would have is an exhaust hood above the cook top. Venting moisture and grease out makes quite a difference in your quality of life, much more than you would think.

We have mushroom vents throughout the boat, anything that needs plugs in uses power and can drain our batteries. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Wow! That is a stunning narrow boat! The kitchen 😱😱😱😱 The storage is amazing! I’m a big believer to kitchen storage. And a washer dryer……..SO important! Being able to have the food out be able to fix a plate, and then sitting down. The dinette is perfect of a visiting couple. The drapery fabric is soft and lovely, love the top and bottom. Looks so tidy. I don’t know how you managed during lockdown! I am completely blown away by this boat. Safe and happy sailing ♥️♥️♥️♥️ PS, you where a beautiful bride 💐

Lovely boat and colours, my wife and I lived on a 70ft narrow boat for 6years and loved every minute of it. Cruised most of. English and Welsh canals and various rivers, which can test your handling skills! 1 comment I would add regarding layout, we had two semirecliner chairs opposite the stove. The upright settee style seating becomes uncomfortable after a while….just our choice. After 6 very happy years afloat, an illness hit me that left my wife doing all the manual work, and handling a 22ton boat is more than just steering , which she was very good at. Long story short, we sold it but now read all narrow boat blogs that we can find. Good luck in your travels, get the best from each day. because you don’t know what is round the corner.

I first copped your year of cost vlog at £7k per year with £500 for blacking which would be approx £1k ish. Your interior decorating choice is comfortable,my personal choice is fire midships cross boat bed as you have cassette toilet rather than pump out. If I were ever fortunate to be able to have a boat built then improvements to the hull would be made. As well as isolating transformers for both DC and AC current. One thoughtful idea I came on once was the engine which is bolted to your hull and is by definition a negative current leak to the hull so we had an isolation switch fitted to the engine circuit which cuts negative current and has to be turned on to start the engine. Hope you are both well. Keep safe warm dry and virus free both.

Wow ! Being in America we had a sailboat 35” for about 12 years, it had a diesel engine, two state rooms and the dining table dropped down like yours , being a sailboat it was in the bay and out in the ocean also , but your boat is amazing! So much room and a true live a board , God bless and she is as beautiful as the two of you 👍🏻

I have just seen a different new build narrowboat video, that I didn't like at all. Then I watched your video, and what a difference! I liked everything about it. The painted walls, the new curtains with eyelets top and bottom, the pullman style dining area..... just a great home. Very well done.
