There were a lot of good actors who got killed in their most famous films. Paul Winfield for instance played Captain Terrell (Star Trek II), the police chief in the district the Terminator decimated (The Terminator), Martin Luther King Jr in a TV movie, and an alien captain on Star Trek: TNG. What do these roles have common? His character was KILLED in all of them!!!! He couldn't catch a break! One of the last things he before he passed was voiceover for the A & E series, City Confidential. It was a lurid show about murders in smalltown America. Good series but the subject was morbid!

Actually, Bill Paxton was in Predator 2 which was released in 1990. Still it is unique that he was killed by the title character of three unique science fiction films. Director James Cameron was very fond of him, hence Bill Paxton frequently having roles in Cameron's films.

Yeah, that was the biggest hit the band ever had. It would be ten years before knew I them for anything besides that one song.

A lot of musicians have issues about certain kinds of music and want to be seen as rebels. A song like "Weird Science" is the antithesis of what they want to be known for -- it's bubblegum pop. They want to make huge money but not be known for songs that little kids sing that are "socially acceptable." The funny thing is that the best songs I can remember, the ones that are UPLIFTING without being completely saccharine or resampled crap (pick any teeny bopper after the late 1990s and most of the music libraries of Katie Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, etc.), ARE bubblegum pop. The Beatles could be considered THE HEIGHT of bubblegum pop whether anyone wants to admit it or not. The funny thing is that anyone in the 1960s and 1970s who successfully emulated the Beatles was considered bubblegum pop -- biggest example being The Monkees. Carol King, Neal Diamond, and even Frank Zappa (the two guys WROTE songs for The Monkees!) were able to channel into whatever it was The Beatles did and write music for others and themselves that was not that far off from the Fab Four. A decade later, in the late 1970s, the spoof band, "The Rutles," were riffing The Beatles but showing what The Beatles did still worked even though they were strictly playing it for laughs (and pleasing at least TWO of The Beatles who got the joke and weren't offended by it!). Heck, Paul McCartney really didn't change his style of song-making after The Beatles split up because it was commercially successful. I guess the point is you never know what people are going to know you for and appreciate. At least half the artists out there -- actors, musicians, pencilers/painters -- never come to grips with what it is that makes them famous and remembered and they make themselves utterly miserable over that fact. Harrison Ford to this day still can't deal with the fact that Star Wars made him a star. He loves Indiana Jones but he's never been a huge fan of the Han Solo character and wanted him killed off since at least The Empire Strikes Back...

One if the best movies ever to come from the 80"s. I was 14 yrs old when it came out. If I even think about that movie a giddy feeling and a smile I can't control happens. Every time. The 80's were the fucking best.

The Apple Lisa sold for $10,000 but was displaced a year later by the Macintosh. It used piping of data between apps which was pretty advanced for the time.

Early Mac was an all in one - the keyboard was a cover for the front, protecting the built-it B&W CRT and disk/cable inputs. The point and click OS was over 10 years ahead of Windows. I played a few games on that puppy. The Art of War stands out. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zppn0Lqbp86aZNo.html

daAnder71 Displace - take over the place, position, or role of (someone or something). The Mac was not a replacement for the Lisa, it completely pushed the Lisa out of the market and created a new market when Jobs preemptively hinted about the Mac at $3,000. He did this in response to complaints about the Lisa price. Later, the Lisa was refurbished to run as a Mac with a narrower aspect ratio. This was the first ‘Mac’ I owned, but it was no longer a Lisa.

terry landess The first Mac shown in 1984 by Jobs had a separate keyboard. Don’t believe there was an all-in-one design unless it was a prototype. The Mac portable appeared in 1989 and did have the keyboard as a cover.

That’s weird, I figured the reason why Anthony Michael Hall wasn’t in National Lampoon‘s European vacation was because of what I always thought which was them not wanting the same actors to play Rusty and Audrey being that in every movie, those two characters are played by the different actors. It’s also funny that the kids never really age either and how rusty is a half a year younger in Christmas vacation than he was in the first movie. Another fun fact; the gal that played Audrey in European vacation had just turned 21 years old and both actors who played Rusty and Audrey in Vegas vacation were old enough to be out of the house and on their own… Lol.
