The whole point of a lot of the western excursions the Japanese wrestlers get sent on is to learn gimmicks and the like since it’s not as prevalent in Japan. So a lot of the foreign guys when they’re starting out get weird or dumb gimmicks for a while.
I want Joe to challenge Okada for the Continental Crown just hear Joe say in a promo, “if you step in the ring with me, I’ll turn you back into my little sidekick.”
@lastdayonearthmysteryman4849
Ай бұрын
Yes!
Not only did Okada insist on returning to TNA as part of his NJPW Farewell Tour, he straight up paid respect to the promotion and their fans during his goodbye despite how embarrassing his run during excursion was there. I genuinely think he was still grateful for what he learned there, even if it was what he DIDN'T want to be during his time in the business. The dude is a class act, through and through.

My age too which actually blew my mind. I grew up watching him but hes been going in the ring since his teens and that would not of been on TV I believe. Crazy to think if he lived near where I did we likely would of Graduated School together if the same school.
Honorable mention goes to Dustin Rhodes and his Black Reign gimmick.

A mix of him having a dark time in his life, not being in good shape, and booking/presentation made that time terrible. But the inherent idea of "Let's create a darker version of Goldust" is something with potential.

Such an absurd thing to say. Whether you enjoy AEW or the Bucks itself, it's undeniable that the existence of AEW is a net positive for wrestling in general...
It's good to see Cultaholic doing a top 10 video that isn't WWE, although I feel the opposite since I feel like some guys who has transitioned from TNA to AEW e.g. Brian Cage & the Blade are being wasted on AEW.

@Jamieb1994

@luvmusicutb I agree, especially the Lucha Bros since you've got Pentagon who's badass to watch, yet there's that Alex Abrahantes who I feel like is holding Pentagon back from his full potential.
Remember that scene where Mr. Burns wanted to hire Frank Grimes to be his executive vice president, but then when Grimes is finally hired by the power plant, Burns had already moved on to wanting to hire a heroic dog for the spot, forgetting about Grimes, and just sticking him “somewhere” in the plant? That is every wrestling executive ever.
Now you should do a video called 10 TNA Stars WASTED by AEW Wrestling.

TNA was my introduction to Eddie Kingston
Most of this list is guys who almost nobody knew of when they went to TNA and then got bigger afterwards. Cody did one taping. Kingston did the best storyline of his career in TNA. None of these guys were wasted. They were used in a way that fit their status at the time. It's not like TNA could see the future.
@FreedomDiaries1

Agreed. Wasted implies they were already known and they didn't do anything with them.
@dawholep

Yea, most of this list is wrestler got a try out early in their career and either weren't signed or chose not to sign as opposed to bein "wasted" like the title implies.
The fact that Archer has really not got a proper push is weird? Don't see many guys his size if any move like him. Maybe the fact he only says "everybody dies" holds him back but dude is such a monster!
How is Trent star?

Follow up list, 10 AEW Stars Wasted by AEW
Kingston in DCC got wasted when the new management came in, and they just got lost. I hardly see his second run as a waste. That was TNA in its rebuilding stage, he was better off still working elsewhere at the same time like evolve etc
Their time together in TNA is when the Bucks and Okada became friends, leading to the Bucks in NJPW and Okada later joining AEW.
Eddie Kingston had good run in TNA..idk why put him into this list.. ermmm.. i also love aew but they wasted their talent just liked Jeff hardy,matt hardy, Allie the bunny, Christopher Daniel (curry man),
I don't like AEW's product, but i like that they made wwe improve it's product considerably, now that wrestling is so good
AEW "stars" Begins with Colt "Never seen on TV" Cabana Sorry, he is NOT a star in anyway
Jeff Hardy is a former TNA wrestler that's being wasted in AEW

Dude got a DUI for a third time in 10 years just prior to a big match, had a rough match with the Young Bucks, and as much as I was a big Hardy fan growing up, he is lucky he wasn't let go multiple times over the years for most companies. Like that stuff is on him.

Okada was in TNA when Pope Elijah Burke was the Rain Maker, I wonder If that's where Okada got it.

Not Punk killing a push by getting into an IRL scrap with another wrestler. Can't imagine him ever doing that.

If real wrestlers were still around Perry would have gotten his ass handed to him, then would have been banished from the locker room until he grew up and learned to not go into business for himself
Thank you for bringing these repressed memories back. Especially the Kato from Green Hornet one. Damn you, now the Green Hornet movie is back in my memory.
If Impact Wrestling had signed Jon Moxley there is a high potential that Moxley would be the only wrestler in History to hold the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, the AEW World Championship, the WWE Championship and the Impact World Championship, but then The Shield may not have happened. Also Kazuchika Okada and Switchblade Jay White were wasted by Impact Wrestling. Kazuchika Okada was made to look like a Jobber and Switchblade Jay White was only brought in to bring Chris Bey and Ace Austin into Bullet Club so as Impact could say they have a Bullet Club in their wrestling promotion too.

you don't know what you're talking about dude
It’s almost as if TNA knew that an aging Kingston is better on the mic than wrestling. It’s also kind of a bold statement to say TNA wasted the Bucks when it’s been said by multiple people that they refused to take advice or criticisms from the vets on the roster. Seems more like they wasted TNA’s time.
It is weird to me that Lance Archer was never a bigger star than he was -- in TNA, or anywhere else. Good look/size, good ring work, good character work, always comes across as a real good guy irl. The dude's 47 years old so I can't hold it too hard against AEW for not pushing him harder, but man, he's always gonna be one of my "what if" guys.
This video jumped the shark immediately. Pretending AEW didn't completely fail to do anything with Colt Cabana is stooge shit.
The only one I disagree with on this list is Mox. He had only one match which was a dark match and didn't make a difference in my opinion but to me, Nese and Kingston were screwed by TNA creative
yo this list is BS might want to try again
I clearly remember how I catched the x-division title, sure
Thanks 🎉
I don't think Impact wasted Kingston, he did a good job
i remember seeing bucks in tna & watching bound for glory back in 2010(which i still have on dvd) I've been a fan on the bucks or generation me since😊

Best tag teams of all time. urm..... NO I've never seen a tag team worse than The Buck's untrained backyard idiots who can't tell a story, sink ratings, have worse go away heat than xpac, every match is the same. They are one of the worse tag teams in professional wrestling.
Now Cody has finished the Story, he needs to finish the list. RODDY! Strong.

TNA didn't waste The Bucks, they just saw them for what they were and used them accordingly. Garbage list.
I remember The Green Hornet movie with Seth Rogen 🤮
Really, anyone who isn't Samoa Joe and is or has been in AEW can count towards this list
These guys just need to like what they like
Gosh I can't stand russo
Lance Archer is still wasted tho, Eddie Kingston just isn't that good, The Bucks are the bucks (nuff said), Yes TNA did do Cody and Okada dirty

TNA in its prime put out a product 100 times better than AEW. TNA as shit as it is the now, still puts out a better product than AEW. The only thing that keeps AEW going is that they can pay big names, which helps carry the pile of shit.

@@leonturner2598 Lets look at the evidence. AEW's barely tops wwe's developmental brand in viewership. Its ratings are in the bin. There are no stars, half the roster is out injured, they have had numerous backstage issues/controversies, the womens division is a complete joke, the booking is laughable and makes no sense. There viewership numbers have not changed since its debut, AEW appeals to its 600k or so hardcore mark fanbase, and will never EVER get bigger. Its not professional wrestling, its indi wrestling with a budget. So if it was the 'wrestling' people have fallen in love with, then it would be more popular. Its a complete clown show, run for marks by marks
