"Oi", in Brazil, besides being used to call people's attention, is also used as a greeting, just like "hey" and "hello". In fact, it's the most common and used greeting ever over here.

According to Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English a phrasal verb "Bang on" has the following meaning - BrE informal "to talk continuosly about somthing in a boring way"
