I've always seen the meta-slaving character-swapping dilemma you bring up as a positive, it reminds me of that "Fruit" thing from outside in real life. A lot of them are cool, and I don't know which to eat but some are in season and some or not. The fruit meta dictated by the weather of the world narrows down the choices for me, and forces me to have some variety I likely would not have given myself on my own terms. I like to think this makes the game much less stale long term, but taking the time to learn every single matchup interaction for 1 character to master it does seem quite fun too honestly. Having the confidence of knowing what to do even against your toughest counters I imagine feels really good, and it's a feeling that's likely much less common for people that swap characters on a whim every major balance patch

Hey Impala, do you have any tips for playing bow? Specifically I have trouble with landing hits, it seems like when I throw out attacks they don't hit. How are you so confident that when you dlight, or nair (or sair, espicially sair), you know it'll hit?

cuz he know exactly how to master the neutral game and keeps taking constent informations on his opponent (if his more aerial / grounded, passive / aggressive, his ticks (like panic jumps, recurent dodges, attack patern, offstage game) he also know every single strings to put when he have the ocasion, its very difficult to reach this reading level but, just watch pros, what they do, and also practice a lot in traning : doing strings, reactions exercices and everything. but the most important thing that Impala has is MOVEMENT : looks how he dash jump very fast to repositioning himself for a good punish, he also very reactive and the most important, he can adapt himself to the opponent playstyle, at the very first moments of the game, try taking EVERY SINGLE informations you can take, and use your movement and all the strings, true combos, you've learned on training mode to win. its a card game, just learn and know how to use it.

the main one is to play for stage. when you're in the center you have the most presence imaginable on the weapon. problem is when you're moving too much on bow, you start to give openings for your opponents. compared to something like orb, you don't have those aerials that you can anticipate or follow up with consistently, so staying in the center should help with accuracy. the hitboxes, if you can imagine, are small in comparison to the rest of the weapons in the game. it doesn't make it bad, but you're gonna want to keep your mistakes and number of hitboxes you throw out at zero. if you get hit, you lose stage, and that's not something you want with a bow in your hand.

@@ImpalaVS Shoot I thought I replied a lot earlier but I guess it never clicked the button. I think I was gonna say thanks because this makes a lot of sense, I tend to chase my opponent around the entire stage, but unlike scythe, or orb, I can't really attack stacked, so I'm at a disadvantage.

Improve your options optimise it specifically if your playing mordex, make sure your move does not make you lose advantage state

The placements take multiple things into account: (1) time to complete match (2) leftover stock (3) situated ranks of opponents: And much more. There is a small degree of luck involved but it ensures that there is placement variation based on skill and adaptability.
