Did you do a tutorial on how to fit one of these on your ep2?

I was thinking about the 10.1" screen, does the Type R natively fit a 7inch monitor? It looks nice! I got my phone clip hooked up to the airvents though. I need to change my setup if it covers it.

You need steering control patch leads connect2 to fit on the canbus module, to get the steering control works.

Great video. I just got a 8th gen civic myself and plan to install custom android dash too - do you have any experience or videos on opening the panels the right way?

Quick question whats the model of the bluetooth device with the steering controls that plugs into the cig?

With the connect2 adaptor was it literally just plug and play? Or did you need to do some splicing? I want to get a new head unit for my fn2 but haven’t got any experience with wiring ahha

Hey I am struggerling a lot with the steering wheel controls on my civic with the Connects2. I tried connecting all Key1 Key2 and GND. I got it working connecting the Key1 of the radio directly to the purple cable of the Gray OEM female connector, but then the Date/Time settings go away. Please help a Spanish friend!! Thanks!

the screen at the top does it automatically start showing the date? do you have any control over the screen, can you change the time etc

You can control the screen using the steering wheel controls. You long press on Mode and it allows you to set the time, just long press again when you're done

After indtalling my unit, my ac and time display are no longer showing the time or temp. What did I do wrong?

Question: what app is that one which tells you the upper speed limit that seems to float on the main screen? 00:14 to 00:15 Thank you!

It's an App that was called TomTom speed camera but it's been updated and looks and functions somewhat differently and has a different name: Tomtom Amigo. You can download it from the Google play store.

Can this be done on a FN2 Type R? Are you still happy with the install or did any gremlins appear? no parasitic draw on battery?

Perhaps a stupid question but can i plug in my subwoofer cables in the headunit? and does it have a slot for sim card? cheers

No such thing as a stupid question bro: in regards to the subwoofer, there is an RCA port labelled "Sub" but plugging a sub directly into it doesn't work, I tried, I think it's supposed to be the input for an amp. There isn't a SIM card slot on this model, just usb ports and a micro SD card slot.

I saw that the box with the steering wheel controls adapter has a paper with information a picture with fd2 dashboard .So its the same? because i bought a 10.1 android unit for my fd1 but it doesn't work the steering wheel controls.I have to take the same as yours adapter?

Honestly I couldn't comment on that, I only know that it works on the FN. It's worth checking how you wired it up, I had issues with how I wired it and couldn't get it to work till I double checked and rewired

Nah it's a Bluetooth receiver, doesn't come with the unit. You don't need it, I took it out when I got the steering controls working, the headunit has Bluetooth built in and it works perfectly

These are one of those Chinese products that have multiple makes and models for the same thing so I couldn't help you there lol. Thing is though, these receivers are very hard to come by now for some reason. Search Bluetooth receiver on Amazon and eBay and see if you're lucky enough to find one similar lol I remember when they were all over Amazon and eBay and were really cheap as well

No problem at all and yeah for the most part is so works perfectly fine, sound is still good and it's still reasonably responsive. It does have days here and there were it decides to mess about but for the most part no issues - still happy with it

Hi just wondering what you're thoughts are on the overall size and how much it sticks out of the dash? Not sure if it would look out of place in a transporter t5.

I think the overall size is perfect and it being wider makes it appear less out of place in the dash. How much it sticks out depends on your dash, on mine it's a bit more recessed so the screen lies pretty flush with the rest of the dash but it could be different on your T5's dash. I don't think it'll look remarkably out of place in your t5 tbh

I can't provide a link i'm afraid, you can do a search on eBay. For the double din kit just search "Civic mk8 double din" and pick one that comes with a connects 2 harness adaptor.

Wanted to know what interface you purchase to get the steering wheel yo work. Also, how did you get the original display to work?

I got the connects 2 interface for my make and model screen just works after install, didn't have to do anything else for it. As I'm sure you're aware the time and date is now set from the steering wheel controls

It's a connect to kit off eBay. Search: Connects2 CTKHD01 Car Stereo Double Din Fitting Kit. You don't need a special one for the xtrons, the harness that comes with the kit works with most aftermarket headunits. Though you'll have to figure out the steering controls

Yes you can - you press and hold on the mode button on the steering wheel and use the next and previous buttons (on the steering wheel) to change the value up and down, and the volume up and down to change the values being adjusted - Then mode again to set

Yeah still using it. Takes about 10-15 seconds to boot. I haven't used it for mirroring so I can't comment on that. It's plug and play if you use a harness adaptor as you would have to use with any aftermarket headunit. You get steering controls if you get a harness adaptor that includes it

If I'm remembering correctly, you connect Key 1 and Ground on the patch lead to the Key 1 and Ground on the headunit, key 2 isn't connected. Be sure to connect these up and plug into the headunit before plugging into the car's harness

It comes in with a built in solution but it's not Google maps. You also have the option to download offline maps for Google maps when connected to WiFi

Hi there, i have a question for you, i want to buy one of those radios for an 2008 civic hatchback, is exacly like yours, does the A/C unit have anything to do with the radio conection or is totaly seperated? i´ve read some reviews and people talk a lot about the connects2.. i´m a bit lost can anyone help me? thanks guys

@Rui Goncalves The head unit is independent of the A/C controls but you will need a harness adapter to connect up any aftermarket head unit. Where the connects2 comes in, is allowing you to use your steering wheel controls for volume etc, to control your new head unit. Hope that answers your questions.

Hi mate, yeah it'll work as long as it's a non-nav model. You can find them on eBay, just search "civic double 2006-2011 din facia kit". Get a kit with a connects 2 harness harness adaptor.

You press and hold on the mode button on your steering wheel and use the volume up and down to adjust the values and press mode to switch the value (hour/minute) being changed then press and hold mode to set

They have corresponding wires on the head unit. If you're using the connects 2 harness adaptor, you need to look up which of them you need to connect for your particular headunit to allow for the steering wheel controls to work

Excellent and yes that's right, it's pretty much plug and play, can't get it wrong. I used the plastic ones but that was a mistake, rattled and squeaked like crazy. I'd recommend the metal brackets, much better

USB under the armrest is a good call but the GPS I'd advise against putting it by the vents. I did the same and had issues with the GPS when I had the AC on, guess the GPS module doesn't function when it gets too cold. I'd recommend putting it to the right under the top of the dash - you'll see where I mean when you're working on it

I can't say I do I'm afraid. From my experience the display seems independent to the headunit. At the very least you shouldn't be having any issues with the correct harness adapter and everything plugged in correctly. I'd retrace my steps and make sure everything is plugged in properly

Quick question - which harness does that stereo come with - ISO ( international) - I have a joying unit - got the stearing controls working no problem but it doesn't have the temp and clock display. the Joying unit came with a Civic Harness(Without display) and a Standard ISO harness .. I want to plug the ISO one in then use the CTHO002 that you used in the video ( just want to know if it will plug in before I order it). thanks

@Cosmin Lungu You use the left steering controls - press and hold on the mode button till you see the clock blinking. Use up and down to adjust and press the mode button to switch the value being adjusted

It's single din, but there's a 2din version with a CD drive
