This is what the 90s felt like. Hopeful. Free. Very chill time to be alive. Love this song so much.

I completely agree... It was joyful and hopeful, It was a great time to be alive!
Always fascinating to watch Rob Buck do what he did so well. What an amazing, inventive guitarist.

The 90s was a decade to remember and she was definitely part of a fantastic soundscape. So much great music. That was the decade of my 20 somethings and as much as I enjoy my life now, how I would want to do it all over again. I must have done something right, 90's music holds a large spot in both my daughter's playlists.

Same with my mother, she has so many stories of traveling and hearing bands like this on the radio and buying their albums. It’s great, she had some amazing taste and now I’m rediscovering all her favorites. The 90s was a great decade.

Also apparently people used to think my mom was Natalie on the street sometimes, she did look really similar back then.

Yes. And NO TRUMP UGLINESS THEN EITHER.
At the time, I had no clue how totally hot she really was. And her singing is the best part.

I liked a woman her same age in 92, who looked so much like her.
Viva the memory and music of the 10,000 Maniacs. Rest In Peace Robert Buck - gone but not forgotten.

This performance is where I discovered 10,000 Maniacs and Natalie Merchant and I have been in love ever since. I haven’t seen this clip since it aired live. 🥲 The vibe in this song is the world I live to recreate ❤️❤️❤️ Thank u.

Yeah, in a way, its depressing the way things are now, but as someone wiser than myself once said "dont be sad its over... be glad it happened". And I am glad to have been part of it.

@@Ray-xx5npsame. It can be depressing. But it’s great to remember it.
I get the warm and fuzzies when I hear this song.

Saint you never know! Maybe, maybe not! I wouldn’t bet against it however
Talking about dopamine? Talking about Natalie Merchant! What woman, my God! Her voice, her smile, her movements... look at her face and sympathetic vibration; she really makes love on stage, in another kind of way, timeless, eternal, out from this ordinary world.
Ahhhh my senior year!!! The good old days!!!
Flawless performance by Natalie and the ENTIRE band…
Remembering hearing them perform this at UConn in May 1993. A year before I graduated. Year before I met my wife. This song takes me back to those days.
stellar voice
Candy Everybody Wants excelente tema con Michael Stipe
Poetry in motion. ❤
Perfect!
Beautiful dancer
I love her little dance, it reminds me of a lane on the Seinfeld show with her little kicks and those thumb things happening. 😁😁😁👍🏼 still after 30 years, her voice still remains perfect
Oh to go back to this “new” year! What a time.
Stefan from Weekend Update would have loved that night. As you all can see it was hosted by MTV's Dan Cortese.
I wish during those 3 years when Natalie Merchant & Michael Stipe dated they had a kid. Could you imagine the talent that child would've had ?
Go Rob!
Happy New Year 💕
Superb!!!
Always thought that dancing she did with those little kicks was kind of hot
Uyyyyyyy, también aquí qué hermoso se escuchan esos metales; marzo 2024, saludos desde México, Ciudad
Is anyone else surprised that Rob doesn’t do that nice solo part on “these are days” when they play it live? This song is fantastic overall, but that part really is the icing on the cake for me in the studio version.
Amazing voice! Love Natalie Merchant!

Natalie short hair in a black dress and platform mary janes .Must be 1993
Not seen this confirmed anywhere, but surely Elaine from Seinfeld's dancing is a parody of Merchant?
