1 year review. Rough Country 3.5” lift 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I see a lot of questions regarding reliability and lifespan of this lift so so figured I’d do a quick video. In the year I’ve had it on the truck it’s been great! I do not beat on this truck so I can’t speak for this lifts durability off-road, but everything else has been excellent. I would absolutely recommend this lift. I’ve also heard excellent things about the next step up which would be the coil overs. They were an extra $1200 at the time I bought this so this is the route I went. Thanks for watching and I hope it helps.
**the noise in the video I talk about has been fixed. A few people have pointed out the nut on the control arm being backed out. It was tightened up and fixed. So far it has stayed in place and we’re all good. Thanks guys!**

    At around 5:15 of the video I think I see where the click is coming from it looks like the nut for the upper control arm is not tightened all the way or it’s not sitting flush on the knuckle. Check it out if you can man

    Good deal man! Mine is still going strong. Most of the problems I’ve seen have been from the upper ball joints going bad. Seems like a lot of those guys didn’t upgrade the UCA to help w the angles. Some of them did and still had problems, but that hasn’t been very common in my personal experience doing a small amount of research on it. I upgraded mine and I haven’t had any problems at all. I also don’t take the truck off roaring and beat the hell out of it so maybe that also has something to do w it. Maybe not. Is it the best kit out there, no. But, I love the kit and I’d recommend it. Stoked to hear how yours turns out!

    Very satisfied with the results wow and wow ride’s perfectly smooth, I ended up putting 3in in the back and 3.5 in the front and it looks slightly taller in the front but it’s nothing you’ll bearly noticed it. Front struts and back shocks are just right on the spot my is a 2015 GMC Sierra denali 4x4 Very recommended guys no doubt 👍👍👍👌👌👌

    I think I know why your truck makes that sound when your turning left, if you watch the video closely when you focus on the passenger side upper control arm you will notice that there is a decent side gap between the upper control arm and the nut that tightens it down, you definitely need to tighten that asap

    Yessir, that nut has since Ben tightened up and checked periodically to make sure it hasn’t backed off again. The noise is gone. I don’t know how it missed it for so long, but I did. Fortunately nothing happened while it was backed out. I appreciate it brother. 🍻

    Looking at doing this same thing with the 3.5 inch lifted struts and the control arms made for it, wondering if you would also suggest putting the spacer for the front diff to bring it a bit lower. I want my four wheel drive to still work good and that front axle angles to still be decent. Thanks

  • @KoreyB03

    @KoreyB03

    7 ай бұрын

    Yessir. I do believe I had to do the spacer w this. It’s a really good kit that includes it. It also includes a metal plate for the diff as well so it doesn’t get smacked on anything.

    I have the same truck I'm looking to get me a 3.5 inch lift on it soon. Do you have any clearance issues? Like going through car washes or anything?

  • @KoreyB03

    @KoreyB03

    Жыл бұрын

    No clearance issues for me at all. If I recommended anything it would be wheel spacers. It depends on the tires u go with, but the Kenda’s I have on here rub at full lock. It’s a very slight rub, but still rubs. I personally don’t like the tires sticking way out from the body so I plan on getting 1/2” spacers at the biggest.

    There's your clanging noise. The right hand upper ball joint nut is loose. Better get that tightened up before the nut falls off and it comes apart on the highway. Not a bad idea to check everything else while you're at it.

    On mine it was the nut to the ball joint on the UCA. Not sure when or how it happened, but somehow it either backed out, or when I tightened it, it wasn’t seated correctly and then seated when I started to drive it and made the nut loose. Whatever the case, I was able to tighten it and it fixed it right up. Weird thing is I took it in for 2 different alignments and it wasn’t caught then either. Hopefully you can figure it out dude.

    Before I did this I had a 1.5-2” level. This rides just as good or better. Nothing was wrong w it, I just wanted a little higher look. I wish I could send a pic of it as it sits now. Thanks man. I know. The shocks I took off were installed exactly like that and after some research during installation I decided to mount them like the ones I took off. I found that a lot of RC’s shocks along w others were able to be mounted upside down and a lot of guys doit although RC does recommend mounting the cylinder down. I did check them for leaks after I installed them whenever I drove anywhere. Now I check probably once a month. So far so good. No leaks, no sagging, no problems. Im not not saying that this is the way everyone or anyone should doit, but that’s how I did it.
