The Q&A Video is now live on the 2nd channel. Thanks so much for all the tyre recommendations, but to be clear, I am not after an All Terrain or Rugged Terrain, it must be a Mud Terrain and Toyo and Nitto don't make muddies in my size. If you have any experience with any full muddies in a 285/70R17 I'd love to hear it.

Great video Harry! Big fan! I also have a late 2020 VX (21 spec) and the Bluetooth audio issue with calls drove me nuts too, I googled, fiddled with all settings and nothing worked. I have a Rhino rack tray on top and the air spoilage makes the audio even worse. Volume control during calls didn’t change anything! I told Toyota at 12 month service, they just ‘reset it’ (not telling me if it was Bluetooth or whole entertainment system reset), but it worked. And now it’s clear as day! So get Toyota to fix under warranty. I can control audio in calls now! Cheers. Keep up the great work.

I hear you! It’s tricky with rear facing car seats with space, my hubby is 6”4 and it can be annoying but they are so much safer to stay rear facing for a long as possible, they usually don’t reach the markers to forward face until 2-3yrs in most new car seats now anyway. I have the bushwrapz cape kit too and wish I had gone with the Advance 5yr kit, I knew the value in them but underestimated it, I love it so much I wish that’s what I had done!

G'day Harry, crackin vid mate, IMO I appreciate the honesty when you are talking bout certain products ie "Yes these lights were sponsored but I retain free thoughts etc, no I didn't like them" Any potential aftermarket supplier would be mad not to support you in your ongoing build. I believe there are 2 types of influencer in this field, 1 those that will bang on about a certain product due to an agreement whether paid, supplied or whatever the case is, 2 like yourself - yes they may have been supplied, endorsed etc but I'm not a fan.... Please keep up the honest vid's mate as that's why we keep coming back for more!

Harry, nice review of the Prado. Unfortunately living in Canada we don't get it as a Toyota here, we get it as a Lexus GX. But the Prado is more practical in styling. The Lexus is well, let's just say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Tires - you asked for suggestions, and this is my experience and opinion as each vehicle will perform differently depending on use, weight, and tire selected as you already know. I've had similar experiences with the brand's you noted. Here is an interesting choice as I have yet to see a KZreadr test them, so if you pick one of them, thank you! Firestone M/T2 (MT2) Toyo M-55 (look like they are not available in AUZ) is a Mud Tire. Tires are a comprise on your intended use and purposes. But if you are willing to compromise comfort, look for 'commercial' compounds/rating for the selected tire. By the time you read this you've probably already chosen your nexts tire. Anyway, great work, keep it up!

I think the best tyre is the Goodyear Wrangler MTR. That's what im going to try next. I have actually heard too many horror stories with coopers I wouldn't get them. Falkens have too soft a side wall. Everyone loves BFG KO2s but there KM3 muddie actually looses it's lugs and wears rather quickly so I agree there. Toyos are great but really heavy tyre. And apparently the nittos are terrible in the wet and rather loud. But you hear too much noise. One person who rags a tyre another will swear by them.

SHame you can't get Toyo MT's mate, I got them on my patrol ute 3.5T, 35k KM on them and people always say they look brand new. Honestly incredible tyres, never had a flat, never lost a lug. My mickey thompson mtz's in the past were effd out by 20,000km. Another mate got 85000km out of a set of toyo muddies as well and then on sold them. Simply incredible wearing tyres with lovely thick sidewalls. Only issue is they are heavy AF.

I’d be a bit worried about the weight in your wheel bag (tent pegs etc). I had to have the rear door on my 2018 Prado 150 replaced after some welds cracked inside the door at the top of the spare wheel bracket. I attribute it to a big Kaymar wheel spacer (since removed) and too much weight in the bag on rough roads.

Never an issue, Prado has 170L of fuel tanks unless you're stupid enough to buy the split tailgate one. Love your build anyway, one sexy looking vehicle, just too dark for the hot tropics for me, i also can't get onboard with the chest fridges, swapped to upright and much better, no slide needed.

In regards to your standard air box if you have dusting issues you dont have to change the air box. Terrain Tammer make a stainless steel frame that comes with a polyurethane cement and a spare air filter that solves the problem , I installed one in my KDJ150 2022 Prado and 3000klm with 0 , zero dust getting past the filter. It is the best and cheapest fix for $100 , they also make the kit for the 200 series as well as other make and model 4x4 vehicles.

Hey mate. The Bluetooth on the Prado. If your concern is not hearing other people when they speak to you, then there is a software update available through your local Toyota desler. If you’re concern is that others can’t hear you, then I suggest changing to transmit / microphone volume on your audio unit. -2 is normally a good number 👍🏼

Hey Harry, keep an eye on the weight on the rear door as it can break the spot welds that hold the internal parts of the door together. Once broken the spare will wobble and make a heap of noise even on a smooth road and it is particularly noticeable when the car is empty. The rear door on my 150 lasted 5 years before this happened but after owing it for almost 11 years now, hands down the best 4wd i have had.

yep, no way that rear door is lasting 10 years. That drop down table alone weighs a heap being stainless.

Harry I would recommend you the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Goodyears, they have a Kevlar on the sidewall so they are very tough and you can run them with very low air pressure and no issue also they have an asymmetrical tread pattern which give a tons of grip in different situation, worth to take a look on them
