@@truuubmw 535 for the F10 generation is the better buy because of the timing chain issues with the N20. The 528 is by no means slow, however. Other then the timing chain, the reliability is the same between the two.

@@Benny-zo3qh dude the n20 engine is definitely slow if it’s in the F10, plus you never see them with high miles 🤷🏾‍♂️ those 4 cylinders are trash in the F10 it’s more adequate in the F30 3-series though

Great vid.. I have a 2013 F10 535i bought it at 108k miles currently just touched 140k had it for little over a year ZERO problems. The N55 is a workhorse, I've driven from Miami to Fort Myers and Miami to Northern Georgia (Athens) TWICE... no issues.

Sounds like you have a great mindset when it comes to owning and maintaining a used car! I also own a 535i but with 73k miles. It’s actually my second 535i, since the first one was totaled. I almost went for a 550i after the first 535i, but it just didn’t feel right after everything I’ve heard about the N63. Couldn’t be happier with my current 535i

@@josesuero371 Reliability wise n55 for sure, power wise n54. n55 is argued as one of the best sounding inline 6's but when it comes to ability to make power the n54 takes the cake, just have to be prepared because it is known to be unreliable if not taken care of properly.

Many years ago I got a 1992 735i and bought it around 170k miles... made it to 340k miles... that was an inline 6 too...

Great car man! I have a 2012 535i with currently 174,000 miles and it runs great!

186k miles here in UK. 535i n55 2010. Occasional lifter tick for couple of mins if you only drive few miles in chilled style in town and up to 2k rpm but that is about it. Look after it and it will look after you!

I bought my wife the same car. As u said, very reliable, little to no issues. Built solid! No noises, smooth as silk. We bought with 25k and no plans to trade it. Definite keeper and I love the halo head lights, styling is beautiful.

I got a f01 750i with 120,000 miles . Drives like a dream . Keep up with the oil changes and drive it responsibly. Soft accelerations and spark plugs and coil changes and stuff . Great video !!

Just bought a 2013 535i with 101k miles through wholesale auction for $6500. Car is gray with brown leather interior. Really like the look of the car, might end up keeping it for myself instead of flipping. Still waiting on the transport to check out how the car runs. Previously owned a 2011 335d , which was really fun. Never thought i'd do a used BMW again but I'm talking myself into it as we speak. Always wanted a car with brown leather interior. @@VagabondThe5 So far, it's going great. I did get it that Wednesday. So 6 months of driving, and I've had no issues. I got lucky though. I got it at 73k miles for $15k. Paid cash. I'm about to do an air suspension swap, drop it a couple inches. Sweet car. Love it.

I love my 535i, got it with 70,000 on the clock. It has now done 92,000 and I haven't had a single problem.

A very positive view on high mileage. Great looking car and thanks for the doughnut, it was sweet.

Great mileage. Love to hear about the preventative maintenance. Hoping to keep my 330i to that same mileage.

Unfortunately BMW'S B48 engine isnt good.. (a 330i has a B48).. expect coolant leaks and misfiring as the car gets older.. id higjly recomend leasing it

Its all yours!!! as a respective owner I got my 2016 535i Recently and its absolutely amazing!!! M sport packages and such a nice underrated Car! especially the N55! I am the 3rd owner of mine and its Jet black like yours! will make a video soon! Do as you please to your 5er! (you earned it)

Keep buying the I6 engines! :) I am going to buy a 335i XDrive myself. Dealer maintenanced. My current E39 528i I have owned for over 15 years.

How is the transmission running at this mileage? And you are right BMWs do not like to be mod that's when issues start happening.

When I tuned my N26. With bootmod3… the motor and transfer case blew.

F10 is the best! From 5-series 🔥

Just don't rev it to hell and go regularly 90mph plus like I do XD. I ONLY killed one of my n55 out of 4 cars I owned. 2x 335i, 1x 535i, and a 535 x drive. The latter one, I murdered the rod bearings XD At 112k miles. But I don't care. I buy cars for fun. Funnily, the one I tortured the most, and I still have, is my merc cls 550. That thing went through burnouts, constant cold rev, crazy speed ups to crazy speeds, and after 145k miles, nothing wrong with it XD

Yo bro I was on the fence about buying a 2014 535i xdrive with 100k miles. Similar to your situation with the one owner but I can tell it was well maintained. This is a result of my phone spying on me 😅

Im curious to see all that is recommended to be done on those recipes? I can see at least 2k of stuff he left out that needs to be done, tires, diff, driveshaft, oil pan gasket etc...

I have bmw f10 and at approximately 230k km the engine was changed and gearbox was repaired

I feel like you got lucky or you chose well but high mileage doesn’t mean it’s been taken care of. Due your diligence and have someone look it over so someone doesn’t dump a beaten up car that got a little wipe down and detail and looks clean

It’s not just luck 🍀 if i constantly follow the same ideals and come out successful, I have other high mile examples of different cars on my channel so you can see. I bought this car sight UNSEEN from Oklahoma and had it shipped to Florida. These engines are known to be reliable if kept unmodified. I used my context clues every time I buy a car. If the car is unmodified in BMW world that’s a clear sign it wasn’t owned buy some teenager that probably dogged the car. Also with this trim level their are certain intervals of parts that had to already been changed in order for it to be running correctly. You probably had a bad experience before which is why you’ve come to that conclusion.

Hi I love my F10 I brought mines last year 2014 with 2 sets of Rims and a valentine Radar system and it has 189649 and I brought mines with 173246 and it has given me a lot of pleasure the things I also put an oil catch can and that saved me a lot of headaches. I also replaced the tires which costs me 824.00 I do my own oil changes which cost me about 70.00 Which is a lot cheaper than 280.00 I changed the oil and all the filters now waiting to change my front struts I hope to have that done soon just take the time to learn about my Vehicle saved me a lot of money and headaches .

Yes sir, kinda common on this chassis 👍🏾 apparently the driver side headlight had gotten some condensation because of the seal cap on top of the headlight was broken. I got a replacement cap at my junkyard and I took a hair dryer and dried the condensation inside. After all that never had an issue again ✅

I'm curious: What makes you say that the 528 is unreliable? I was under the impression that it is basically the same engine as the 535 but not turbocharged.

The F10 528i in 2011 was the only year they made the 528i with a 6 cylinder engine, which is reliable if not the most reliable engine cause it’s not turbocharged it’s N/A. From 2012-2016 528i’s came with the notoriously unreliable 4 cylinder turbo engines. You gotta do research Mon 🔬

Did you say what year this BMW is?

My 535i has been dealing with misfires and drive train malfunction I bought it at 94k miles it’s barely at 114k and the engine is trash even keeping up with the maintenance smh. Shitty car your one of the lucky few.

Is there somewhere that does financing with starting $1k to buy it? Do they produce it brand new as well?

My 2013 535i is at 94k miles and I’m worried of the turbo going bad

I think I should be more concerned then you haha but with these N55’s reliability depends on who owns the car, I’ve had mine since 178k miles and now I’m at 203k miles currently and I don’t have any turbo issues. But I’m also not a fast driver and I don’t mod my car mechanically so I’m getting the max reliability 💯

@@erice.8881 exactly, by doing those kind of mods you’re putting unnecessary wear and tear on components. If my car had any mechanical mods I would of never took the risk tbh can’t go wrong with a stock car 💯

528i 2.0l i agree but 2011 528i 3.0l version before 2l 528i camed out is different story, its same engine as 535i exept Turbo, wery identical, but all engines depend how u service it, are you doin it on time, when doing service, are you changing all parts or u leave some parts that can take it to secound service and change it etc... yeah but 528i 3.0l is great, exept 50hp and 100ng+ difference compared with Turbo 535i...^_^, speaking from expirience... have 528i 3l engine but f11 or station wagon, or combi how ever u want to call it ^_^ its noticably cheaper than 535i in terms of cost, more closer to 2l 528i in price when changing something in it, exept brakes and suspension are the identical like on 535i becouse its havier and stronger a bit ^_^, yeah allso 2.8i is petrol but we all know, in this video ur is close to 200k km, mine is 298k 528i 3l, as u said keep it maintained correctly and ur safe, only difference mine is stage 1 arround 280hp so small plus but its ok, just software, why couse i dont have turbo to wory about and some parts that come with it so even u cant pull much from atmospheric engine but to try to tune it its safer a bit ^_^ and in price its close to 525d 2l diesel and 528i 2l petrol to buy, but its shame its only 2011 so who can deal with it (i can) i recommend to get one, its noticable in performance compared to urs just in torque in acceleration later not not that much but im more than happy, couse in my country we registar fully our cars every year and to maintain becouse of smaller sallaries people if buy f10 they get 2l the most, I have good Job solidly paid so thats why I get 3l, its 2.5x expensier in taxes registration per year but I can deal with it, and ps: its nice when u show up to other f10,f11 and it looks identical but u open the hub and they see 3l engine 😁😅

It's all about the 520d or 530d, BMW diesel engines are much better than petrol ones.

Is the 2015 bmw 5 series 535i x Drive the same exact car, or are they different?

As far as engine wise yes they are the same, the X-drive is All wheel drive which adds a lot of parts to the 5 series in my opinion that can break, so I personally say to stay away from anything X-drive. Mine was RWD. Also with X-drive you don’t get M-sport suspension if you got a 535i with X-drive. ONLY RWD 535i F10’s got the true M-sport suspension if it was optioned with the M-sport package 📦

The F10 535’s were made from 2011-2016 and they all have the same engine which is the N55 inline 6

*Always* depends on how you drive. I was getting near 40mpg yesterday in my 2013, but the weather and circumstances were favorable.

@@truuubmw it’s like rolling dice. These are good for mechanics but your average person won’t want to put up with babying a car. It defeats the purpose of luxury. You got a good one and you take care of it but that’s not the common occurrence. I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking a long road trip in a high mileage luxury car.

@@RicTone Key words “take care of it” reliability depends on who personally owns a car tbh. Every used car have their faults but if taken care of correctly and not dogging out a car will increase your reliability. Unfortunately the reason why most people believe what you wrote is because they don’t take care of their car period. 1st things on peoples mind when they get a bmw is to “mod” it… when they really need to do preventative maintenance or fix present mechanical issues. But most don’t and because of that when it breaks they either complain that it’s unreliable or sell it off to another innocent person where they might fall in the same feelings because of it being broken.
