I converted to Catholicism when I was 27 (now im almost 50), studied Islam, Christianity, Buddhism beforehand, I found out that only in Catholic Church (especially in a Mass) I could experience and discover the meaning of God and become united in God. I felt very blessed of having such experiences.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I grew up Southern Baptist and my whole family is Southern Baptist. I knew I was going to be Catholic when I was a junior in high school. I would even sneek of to go to daily mass and tell no one. My church was going through a difficult time where they were throwing out the pastor and I decided to go ahead and become Catholic because I just could not believe in a church or a system to run a church that allowed people to overthrow the shepherd. I was researching the Catholic Church even before my Baptist church went through this difficult time I just knew that the Catholic Church was the true earliest Church. I had a hard time coming out to my family saying that I was going to change churches. I remember when I told my grandmother it was on Easter and she started crying in the car because this is during covid we were having church outside and I also told my mother who to this day still thinks I made the wrong decision. I know in my heart that I made the right decision it is truly the best decision that I've ever made. I finally came fully into the church this past Easter because of covid the years that I wanted to do it. But becoming Catholic was the best thing I've ever done in my life and I am discerning the priesthood now. I also love the traditional Latin mass as well it is the highest worship you could ever offer. And like you said I remember going through RCIA I learned a lot and I researched a lot. I just want to say from a new convert welcome home.

I am seeing so many young protestant pastors converting to Catholicism. Praise God! The Lord is moving and bringing life back to his Church, even amidst the turmoil the Church is currently in. God bless you and your wife. The liturgy is beautiful and is one of the things that drew me 15 years ago. Advice from a fellow convert, RCIA is great, but don't think that's it. Take it upon yourself to learn more, RCIA rarely teaches you all you can know. That being said, your explanation of the differences between the worship services and liturgy was spot in in so many ways and you explained it so logically. Converts make great Catholics because they know what they missed for so long!

Like you said, if you stay within a protestant church, you may never hear of any of these people who are the foundation of Christianity and the Church. It eventually lead me to look into Catholicism, which being raised a Protestant, I've always heard horror stories of. The truth I found was much different and I feel deeper in my faith than I ever have. Anyways, thanks for the video, your reflection, and insight.

Deacon Mike from St. Thomas the Apostle Church here. I want to express what a pure delight it was to sit down this cold Friday morning here on Long Island and find your video. It was certainly no coincidence. I was absolutely amazed at your wonderful presentation. You express to a people longing for purpose and meaning the truths, beauty, order and significance of the Catholic Christian worship- the Mass. I wanted to let you know that as I preach my homilies, especially in the coming Lenten season, I will be referring to the fundamental truths about our own Catholic worship that are contained in your video. That's the way of Catholic preaching- I have preached as Catholic deacon for three years and not once did I invent anything. Your video, my preaching and, indeed, the truth itself stands on Christ and the direct authority given to His apostles to hand on the faith. Truths revealed in sacred scripture and sacred tradition are nothing new in the Catholic Tradition, though so many need be reminded. That's why we call it "practicing the faith." God will continue to bless you and your wife and those you evangelize along your pilgrimage to eternity. Don't keep the faith- give it away freely!

" So do millions of Mormons and Muslims. They get that warm, fuzzy feeling when they pray about their false religions. How do you know the real presence was God when God tells us to not lean on our own understanding and to not trust our hearts because they are desperately wicked? For even Satan himself can appear as an angel of light and signs and wonders. He can give you that warm, fuzzy feeling that Mormons get when they pray to see if Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God or to find out if the Book of Mormon is true. Muslims get it when they pray about Islam. You fell into a religion that is found nowhere in Scripture. Religion's are how Satan traps people. Jesus isn't a religion. He's our savior and He saves us by simply believing and trusting in Him.

And the real presence of Jesus in the most Blessed Eucharist allows us to share in His Blessed Resurrected Life. He lives inside us. It's as close to heaven as you can get in this mortal body. @@joantreadway7557 The Catholic church is not Jesus' church. If it was, we'd read about it in His word. The Catholic church had nothing to do with th Bible. If they did, we'd read about it in His word. Linking Christ’s discourse in John 6 with the Lord’s Table is a significant leap. The events described in John 6 took place during His ministry in Galilee-it would be another year before He and His disciples would meet in the Upper Room. To believe that the early Jews believed this shows lack of biblical knowledge. The Catholic church has made claims that don't hold up to scrutiny: history does not support the claims and scripture denies them. Isn't th total lack of catholicism in scripture embarrassing for you when you try to support it?

The Rosary prayer is something protestants do not like and yet as humans we like to recall our past with family members and friends. We like to talk about our childhood or times in our lives that we want to forget sometimes to get over it. That is what the ROSARY Prayer is all about, recalling the life of our Lord Jesus Christ with Mother Mary of course since she bore our Lord Jesus. Recalling the life of our Lord Jesus Christ everyday is the most beautiful prayer that is so Christ centered and asking Mother Mary to pray for us now and most specially when we are close to death is so powerful a prayer. It truly gives you peace of mind, the grace is just tangible.

Please read this. Time is running out. Jesus is coming back soon “And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭11‬-‭18‬

I have only gotten through the first 5 minutes but it already sounds like you and your wife went on the same journey my wife and I did. Lots of reading and debate watching culminated in a “well let’s just go to mass” decision. We were awestruck by the liturgy and the reality of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist. Approaching the front and receiving a simple blessing “may the lord bless you and keep you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” instantly clarified probably 15+ years of confusion and on again off again searching in my life. We are currently in RCIA with plans to join the Church (baptism for me, confirmation only for my wife) this Easter. I could not be more excited. It is such a blessing. My ex-Catholic husband goes to a mega church and I used to go with him on Sundays then turn around and attend mass and he didn't like the idea so he decided to stop going to his mega church and I continue going to mass on Sundays and most other days. He does not understand why I am so "obsessed" about going to my church and he wished we would only go to his church. I tried to explain to him that the pastor and the "concert" is taking away my attention to God. The way the service is conducted is too distracting and sometimes disturbing for me as I personally think they have somehow taken away the Glory of our God. This is just how I feel. But seems like you share my thoughts about this. So glad to hear this from somebody else. I thought I was alone in this. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thank you so much for sharing, and I am glad that you enjoyed the video! I am sorry to hear about your husband. I will pray for you guys! Just remember how important prayer is (as I am sure you know). We don't often get the opportunity to do life with another person as long as someone who we are married to. So, in this unique relationship, we are given a responsibility to care after their souls in our prayers. There are not many who will be uniquely praying for you or your spouse. This is something I've realized recently. Besides our parents and perhaps a close friend, I do not know of many people praying for me or my wife by name and with specific intentions. So, continue praying for the conversion of your husband (he is already halfway there - thank God he isn't an athiest). And, as I said, I will pray for you as well. God bless!

I think Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura and Sola Gratia have led them to believe that the ultimate “end” for Christianity is simply to believe in the grace of God as revealed in the Scripture. All well and good, but I think Catholic Christianity teaches to go beyond simple faith and works to complete and total submission to our Lord. As Mary said, as Christ said - thy will be done. Not for my happiness or fulfillment or peace or contentment - but for your glory - even if doing your will might mean we are looked on badly by the world, even if we lose family or friends, even if we are arrested, suffer or die for our Faith. I think Protestant churches do something good. They introduce people to Christ, Catholics we need to understand our faith more deeply and pick up where they leave off.

Like you, I came from a Baptist background. I went through a period of agnosticism as a young adult which changed while taking an astronomy class. Then began my search for a “church” because I had BIG questions about the Baptist Church that no one could answer. I went from New Age, to almost every Protestant denomination including Lutheran and Episcopal. I live in an area that is heavily Catholic and was planning to marry into an Italian Catholic family. I bought some books at a Catholic bookstore that explained in simple terms about reasons to become Catholic. The one point that got me was “apostolic succession”. I knew I found my home. I’ve been Catholic for about 27 years now and have evolved from a Vatican II modern service to a Traditional Latin Mass which I adore and really FEEL Christ’s presence in the solemnity of the Mass, complete with Gregorian Chant in the background. We have missals with Latin on one side and the English translation on the other side so you can pray along with the Priest. His back is toward the congregation the entire time except during his sermon which is in English. We call it ad orientum…all eyes focused on the Crucufix then on the consecration of the wine and bread and adoring the real presence of Christ. My mom and dad did come to my confirmation into the church which was their first time in a Catholic Church. My mom’s only comment was “well at least you didn’t join a cult”. They are both deceased now and at the end of their lives they began to accept my faith and admired it.

I came not imagine not loving or knowing what I know about God, Jesus and everything the Catholic Church teaches. I have been to other religion churches in my past and I always love hearing and learning knew things about God and his love for us. Whatever I didn’t understand, I’d go home and look it up in my bible. In school o e of my teachers (a nun) taught us that all religions believe and love God. Every person has their way of loving and believing in God. In this world today, that’s all I ask for. My husband is Muslim from Turkey. We both respect each others religion. We’re raising our daughter Catholic. She’s been in Catholic school since first grade and now she’s in her first year in a Catholic High School. As a Catholic it was very important for me to get married by the church. It is one of the 7 Sacraments. Our Church married us because they saw my husband was willing to raise our daughter Catholic. Our priest loves when my husband goes to certain mass with us. It is a beautiful thing that you and your wife found a new way to deepen your love for God and Jesus. May God bless you both in this beautiful new journey you’re starting on. Peace be with you… 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

We pray the mass.. the order of the mass from start to finish is truly divine worship. We start with the preparatory elements, professing of our faith, confessing of our sins to one another before God, the hearing of the liturgy of the word from the Old Testament, singing of the psalms and standing for The Word of God (the gospel reading) then moving to the Liturgy of the Eucharist, memorialization of the Last Supper, the Lamb offering Himself as the Only Sacrifice that would suffice, then His resurrection, leaving His peace with us and telling us to go forth and spread the Good News. @@lala865acvbdx4 Catholics always have at least one proof text they can point to, and if we completely ignore the context, they can kind of point to a particular Catholic dogma. What we never see is that dogma discussed in any detail in multiple places in the Old and New Testaments. For example, salvation by faith alone is all throughout the Old and New Testament in various places but not praying to Mary, purgatory, transubstantiation, penance, regenerative baptism, and so on. If I look at 1 Corinthians 7:34, and totally ignore the context of the passage, which by the way consists of 15 verses, not one, I still can't see nuns in that verse or passage. There is nothing in Scripture that explicitly forbids the practice of nuns, however, there is also nothing that explicitly describes any similar practice. The problem is these nuns are worship the created instead of the Creator. Praying to, bowing to likenesses of things in heaven is idolatry in God's eyes. The Catholic religion removed the 2nd commandment. Why would they remove one of the commandments that God gave to Moses; unless of course there is something nefarious going on that they want to detract attention from? Exodus 20:4-5 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. It's out of love that we share the truth because you cannot see it following a false religion. I know I can't change your heart. Only God can do that but what I can do is plant that seed, and just as importantly, allow those who may be on the fence to question the teachings of Catholicism. Arriving early to pray is such a good practice! My wife has been singing with the choir for the past month or so, and when we go in early after practice, seeing everyone praying and meditating on the gospels is so beautiful. Thanks for the comment!

That being said, although the Novus Ordo Liturgy brought me from Protestant to Catholic, in the almost 30 years since, I have gravitated towards the Traditional Latin Mass of 1962 and now predominantly attend Masses with FSSP or SSPX clergy and Parishes.

Congratulations stick with the Latin mass. It’s the most beautiful side of heaven. According to John Henry Newman, who is also a convert from the high church, Anglican, and here in Canada, since 1987 I came to the traditional Latin mass the Sunday before Ash Wednesday and I’ve been a member going on 40 years, and I will not go back to the Novus ordo so God bless and take care and our holy mother, God, you, my friend God bless

I will trust in Jesus even as I’m struggling, paying bills and putting food in my refrigerator. I will never lose my faith in Jesus he died for our sins. Jesus please hear my prayers. As a single mother things are difficult on me. My husband passed years ago I’m alone. I’m overwhelmed at times because both of my children are autistic and non verbal. I’m struggling trying to support them and myself. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption. I wish I could go back to the hospital but the mandate is still in place for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid all employees must have covid 19 vaccine. So for now I’m waitressing and I’m so thankful to be working again, but I’m not making nearly enough to make ends meet. I get harassed and called names for simply asking for prayers, but prayers are all I need. I have faith God will provide. He HAS THIS FAR. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! Please pray for me and my children.

We are always hearing about CATHOLIC CHARITIES. Contact the CC office in your diocese. As a social worker, I'd be surprised if they didn't have positions available for you to choose from. I'd even contact the Salvation Army. With all the social service work they do, they'd be a good source on job info/position for you. Did you ask for directions on what social work positions your parish could suggest? Good luck & God bless.

I have been catholic my whole life and for me the peace you get being in the church when you can be before God and just pray with him is amazing for me. I have attended other churches with friends in the past and the loudness of their service was a big turn off it didn't feel like they could be intimate with God in that setting like you can at a Catholic mass.

I'm a pastor of a Catholic Church, and I really appreciate your zeal. As a lifelong Catholic, I always wish all Baptized Catholics could see the beauty and purpose of the Liturgy and be inspired by what it is, as opposed to being dissatisfied with what it is not. You talk about music a lot in this video, and I edit together a lot of our hymns, psalms, and services. You may be interested in the liturgy of the hours, which is the 'Official Prayer of the Church' comprised of almost entirely psalms, along with some New testament Canticles. In seminary we would sing Morning & Evening prayer nearly daily, and, as a priest, I wanted to bring that to our parish. Whether you check it out or not, I appreciated your perspective. Keep reading the Church Fathers. They're just as exciting to rediscover, even having read them for years now.

My family is split between religion being my mom who is a Bible Baptist and my dad who is a Catholic. I don't know why my mom is so mad about the Catholic teachings and practices since she was a conservative Baptist and she tried to mold me as what she is now today, but never did my heart grew towards the Baptist church. When I went to the Catholic church especially the masses it bought me enlightenment and peace in my heart and mind at the end of the day.

*Nothing to struggle about. R Church is a m m Church. R Catholicism has nothing to do with God and His Words. R Catholic Church contradicts Scriptures in every possible ways!* 1. Catholics say Mary was sinless. But BIBLE says Mary offered a sinner's offering. She was a sinner. Bible says Mary needed a Saviour. Lk 2:23-24, Lev 12:6-8, Rom 3:10. 2. Catholics say clergies must be celibate. Yet BIBLE says Peter (supposed R Church first leader) had mother in law. Bible says celibacy is not a qualification for clergies. Mat 8:14- 15, Mar 1:30-31, Luk 4:38-39. 3. Catholics say Mary was forever virgin. Yet BIBLE says Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mary was not perpetually virgin. Mk 6:3, Mat 13:55, Mat 27:56, Mar 6:3, Mar 15:40, Mar 15:47. 4. Catholics say confess to R priests in a box. BIBLE says nothing about confessing to priests in a box. Bible says confess to GOD only. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6, Romans 10:9-10. 5. Catholics say drink of the physical blood of Jesus. Yet OT and NT both say do not drink blood. Acts 15, Lev 7:26. 6. Catholics say pray to passed on Mary and "saints". Yet BIBLE says do not contact the dead. NT Church did not record a single case of NT believers asking passed on saints to pray for them. Deut 18:11, Isaiah 8:19. 7. Catholics make and bow down to statues. BIBLE says do not bow down to graven images (statues). Deut 4, Exo 20:4-5. 8. Catholics sprinkles “holy water”. But NT Church of the Bible mentioned nothing about “holy water”. There was no record of any Apostles sprinkling “holy water” on believers. Catholics claimed “holy water” came from OT. Yet Num 5:17 says “holy water” was water used to test adulterous women in OT temple. Hardly the same. Those were for Old Covenant Jews. Not New Testament Christians. 9. Catholics say Peter was pope - bishop of all bishops. Yet BIBLE says Peter was just a leader of the Jerusalem Church. Bible says nothing of the office of bishop of bishops. Gal 2:9, Mat 16:18. 10. Catholics say there is a seat of Peter. Yet BIBLE says nothing about it. Jesus said “not to lord over others”. 11. Catholics has clergy priesthood. Bible says clergy priesthood was done away with in New Testament. There is no clergy priesthood in NT. Heb 7:27, 9:12, 10:10. 12. Catholics preaches Works Salvation (faith + good works + partake R sacraments + submit to R pontiff + be in R Church + devote to Mary = to be saved). Yet Bible says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Bible says Works Salvation is cursed. Gal 1:8-9. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10. 13. Catholics says they must do Penance to atone for their sins. Yet Bible says repent, confess and sins will be forgiven. Catholic Bible changes the word “repentance” in NT into “penance”. Original Greek NT does not use or mean the word penance. Penance = work to atone for sins. Repentance = change of heart. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6. 14. Catholics say Mary went straight to heaven without dying. Yet Bible says nothing about it. 15. Catholics say Islam and Christianity have the same GOD. Yet Islam doesn't believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and Trinity

Divine Liturgy is the Orthodox and Eastern Rite Catholic term for the Mass. It looks different, but has the same elements. Often in a language other than English and/or Latin, such as Russian, Greek or Syrian, hence it may seem very different, but in reality, it is the very same Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Generally more reverent, however, than Novus Ordo Mass in the West post VI.I

Ok my church has music, but it explains what is going on at the moment. Like when you go get the host, and then you welcome the fathers as they enter. My mother and I would also pray and do the staidhion of the cross. Then visit the saints give a pray in front then go kneel and pray for who may need one, and the a song starts to welcome the fathers and we stand and mass starts. I am glad you feel the lord in your mass. I miss that. I am not close to my church anymore and there is not one close to where I live now, but God has blessed me, with my mother’s smile. That is a story I hope you never have to live throw. Love be with always. “Jesus is love.” Always.

Welcome home to the Catholic faith! I have attended a few Protestant services with my daughter, as she left the Catholic Church many years ago and when I visit her she will occasionally ask me to go with her to the church she is attending at the time. My first time to do this left me feeling so empty. When she asked me what I felt about the experience, I told her that it wasn’t enough, it wasn’t complete. What you described is pretty much what I felt. It was more like a concert to me, as you described. I did not see any true worship. And without the Eucharist, I felt empty. On a few other occasions that I have gone with her, I have gone to a Catholic Mass prior or following. She told me once that the “communion” at the church she attends is the same thing as the Eucharist at a Catholic Mass. I told her that it is not. She grew up in the Catholic Church and even had her daughter baptized in the Catholic Church! And then fell away. I pray for the conversion of both my daughters and their families. Keep up your channel and explaining your experiences; you won’t regret it. Scott Hahn (who is a convert from the Presbyterian church) wrote a book called Rome Sweet Home, Our Journey to Catholicism. If you have not read it or heard it, it would be well worth your while to do so. Amazon has the book; it is also available on Kindle. I first listened to it on cassette tape but do not know if that is available anywhere now. God bless you on your journey!

Yes what I love is no matter where I go in the world it’s the same readings. Feels very united. And I love having my Bible diary/journal where it’s released every year, includes all the mass readings. Of course each priests homily and sharing is different and I think that’s the part where God leads us to it. So I don’t necessarily always go to the same church, of course I have my main church but sometimes I feel called to join other churches mass, and there I get special messages for me.

I threw up in the Episcopal Church, went to an Episcopal prep school which had chapel six mornings a week and twice on Sundays, and in my twenties I spent two summers at and Episcopal Benedictine monastery while I considered a vocation as a Benedictine. So I was certainly wrapped up in a liturgical church. In my 30s I attended an Evangelical seminary where I studied religious education for a master's degree. One of my favorite activities was Protestant Evangelical seminarians to the full Easter vigil midnight Mass. To say that some of their minds were completely blown would be an understatement.

So hapy for you both! I have gone a few times (politeness) to Protestant friends churches, and I just can't feel the Holy Spirit there. A stage, people acting ir-reverent, with coffees, pops, small talk, etc etc, just didn't feel like it was "Holy". You nailed it using the word "reverent". Also, by watching EWTN "Journey Home", I found out many ministers/theologists have converted to Catholism, and that we Catholics hear the most scripture, more than any other denomination. Yes, I do attend daily mass, and the Eucharist is the no. 1 reason why.

🌈🌈🌈🥰🥰🥰 You are a testament to God’s work, Christianity. You are blessed to understand Catholicism earlier in your lifetime. We Roman Catholics take the Bible seriously. We consider it holy that when we believe we need more clarity, we read it without showing that we are reading the Bible. We asked questions from our priest, who I think is the son from the womb of the church. That's why we have the same explanation. We even have synchronization when celebrating the Holy Mass, called anticipated mass, on Saturdays. We celebrate the Holy Week in synchronicity with the whole world. Please continue to be a shepherd to God’s work. May God continue to bless you and your family. Amen. 🙏🙏🙏

first i gotta say where's my pizza....that looks good! but seriously my maternal family hails from Miami in northeast oklahoma and they, being catholic and devout experienced all the anti-catholic distortions you have mentioned in your vids. growing up myself in orange county i drifted in my early 20's and lived entirely in the world but never took that last step into atheism. amazingly my return to the Catholic Faith came about as the result of a jewish gym buddy of mine asking me what the eucharist was since he was doing a college paper on comparative religions. the discussions became deep and culminated the following Christmas Eve when i decided to watch a Catholic mass on TV,when the priest consecrated the eucharist i was what could best be described as being overcome by the Holy Spirit that was life changing. my world view changed completely and i knew without a doubt that night that the real presence is REAL and the Catholic Church,in spite of the many less than christlike members is The One True Church. on Christmas morning, i received a call from my buddy who excitedly told me that,on Christmas Eve he was driving by a Catholic Church and decided to attend Christmas Eve mass. he proceeded to reveal to me that HE had been overcome by an intense full body "baptism of the Holy Spirit" at the consecration tat that his first mass hat convinced him Jesus was his Lord and Savior and the truthfulness of the Real Presence......we both were stunned. for both of us to at the same basic moment in time be touched by the Holy Spirit proves the Holy Spirit knows what He is doing! the following easter mass my gym bud was one of the first groups of converts to be baptized at the new Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral in LA. i have experienced miracles in my life in the years that have followed and loss and Jesus,His Church and yes i unashamedly proclaim His Mother Mary who has interceded multiple times for me have led me through the dark hours we all must face! God bless you and your wife! keep the Faith...for it is True!

As a catholic musician that has been to and enjoyed protestant charismatic worship to me it always feels like the worship style done in protestant service is what we may do at a praise and worship session outside the Sunday service....so on a retreat or a gathering during the week. The music at the mass more is there to compliment what happens at the alter.
