I understand the rule, and as it is written that was an illegal home run, but that rule is just stupid. I totally get having regular bat checks, but this is a little ridiculous. From everything that has been discussed that bat had a sticker from Wednesday against Western Carolina. If it had no sticker, or even a sticker from a series a month ago maybe you could question the bat but COME ON...there's been ONE off day between that bat being valid and then not.

sticker means bats are correct pressure and ring tested. Every (series) a new sticker is put on. Mid weeks they aren’t strict assuming it non conference games and one game. Many mid weeks are times to boost stats so an illegal bat is often used without test. For example cheat bat (mid-week), then another legal bat passes bat test for weekend, then remove sticker and by game 2 or 3 of the end of the series how do umpires know. Florida used crack Easton Beast Caps in 2018 in supers and nothing was said. Sucks but a game of chance.

I've seriously never seen anybody at this level of ball just steal THIRD BASE at will! If I'm pitching to Bradfield I am FILLING UP THE STRIKE ZONE. Give him a free pass you may as well just let him trot all the way to third.

This kills me to say this. Tennessee are studs.

If Tennessee wins this series, there is no question that they are by far the best team in the country.

Tennessee might be the most dominant college baseball team in recent years. They are a complete team. I haven’t seen really any weakness on the team. Oh yeah…Tidwell will be back.

This new generation of ballers is gonna be fun especially since they're already breaching the big leagues.

Who beat TN this year Wheels? I'd like to watch that game cause this team is LOADED! Also, Vandy's left, center, & right outfielders all had problems seeing those two pop ups. I wonder if it's a lighting issue or just poor ball tracking / placement. Regardless, I'd be willing to bet they're going to have some night practices this week to resolve that issue.

Yea some spots on the field you can barely see the ball because the stadiums lights are so bright, takes a special kind of outfielder to be able to track them in the light.

In college baseball every bat that is going to be used must be tested with certain equipment and a sticker be put on it. Either the bat he was using didn’t get tested or the sticker fell off.

@@WolVOLrine yeah the broadcast kinda caught Vitello in a lie there… sticker was clearly visible on TV but he claimed it “fell off”. The sticker on the bat was from a game earlier in the season, that’s why the umps didn’t really have a choice (bat wasn’t approved that day)

As I Vols fan, I’m starting to worry that errors on the infield may cost us in a tight game towards tournament play

Super annoying to listen to the announcers wax poetically about what woulda, shoulda, coulda been regarding the miss fly balls while barely mentioning a revoked homer due to a sticker. It didn't matter anyway since Vandy still would've lost 3-2.

They did let him see it, it just got cut out of the video. The problem was it didn't have the current sticker for this game so it was identified as an illegal bat. All bats have to be approved prior to the game to ensure they are not altered, and if they are approved they get a sticker.

Beck (the one who used the bat) said the sticker fell off and so did another player’s during BP and they didn’t think anything of it because it already had been inspected and still had a previous sticker on it. But the rule is the rule, and I understand the enforcement. But people are gonna take this “cooked” and “juiced” bat narrative to the moon

It’s during twilight. Basically the ball gets lost due to how the sky looks during a really short period of time. That why they were so far off the balls

Every bat a team brings into a SEC facility is checked by the Umpires when they bring them in. There are no other bats left. Unless a team sneaks it in from the back somehow after they arrive. If they approved the bat there is no way it should be overturned. That's on the umpires if it didn't have a sticker. Remove the bat not the run.
