This is probably the best contemporary explanation of the 12 principles I've come across. Short, clear, and entertaining. I'm flipping my intro to animation class and this is what I assign students to watch. They come to class ready to animate! Thanks for making my job easier!
My teacher used these videos in my animation class

really appreciate these, thank you. I've been an animator for 4 years and ive struggled getting to grips with these principles, you've made them easier to understand and also shown the common errors that people tend to fall into.
Hi Alan! Very nice video, im from Spain and im a fan of you work since Animator vs Animation 1. pelase continúe with your good Job :)
Great series here! using all these principles really helps adding realism and fluidness to any animation!
When I first saw this playlist I thought, 'Oh gosh, another list of things to memorize before trying this out.' Unlike EVERYTHING I simply wanted to try, I did not have to go through a complicated list of things I needed to know to perfect it. You make these pretty fun to watch, and they were so interesting I went through all of them in one day. You explained all the necessary details in a no-nonsense way, some I have never experienced. You do pretty good at presentations and REALLY good at animations. I always wanted to try animating but am still yet to have the necessary tools to do it. I saw your 10-year Animator Versus Animation video, and you have amazing story. I first created my channel on August 20th, 2016, but have been using KZread for some years. Now that I have a Google account, I can finally do all the things a regular community user can do and not simply watch videos. I can finally speak my mind through comments and say the things I wished to say for a long time. I'm mostly here to do that, but I am planning on putting a video together where I take a picture of myself every day and put them all together one by one. Though I'm not much of a video person, do expect to see my comments pop up in a lot of my favorite places here. I'm still pretty invisible as of August 26th, 2016 due to low activity, but you can always click on one of my comment icons to go to my channel. See you!

Very good man!
every single animation teacher I've ever had in every level of education starts the class by showing us your video, that's how good they are.
Thank you for making these videos! I have heard many people tell me to look up the 12 principals of animation to help me become a better animator. All 12 videos explained the principles very well! Thanks again!
If anyone one wants a crash course in the essentials of animation, this is the place. Excellent.
Absolutely love this technique. It makes the animation so satisfying.
I'm an indie game developer and am animating a human right now. That helped a bunch! Thank you!
[:3] My cat just watched 3 of these videos in a row!! She's 1 year old and this is the SECOND time she has ever watched anything!!! The first time was when she watched the entire opening scene of La La Land. Further, I'm 90% certain she learned about the concept of frames from watching this series. Whoah. Phenomenal to watch her learn from it too. Oh, plus I really really loved it, fantastic teaching + presentation. AAA+ Will prob watch them all 5 more times. KZread at its best. ~ p e a c e ~ ~ keep up the great work & heart! ~

I needed this guide for our finals project in one of our major classes in animation. THANKS~ ; v ;
This guy is awesome at making concise nuggets of really helpful and interesting lessons and uses great examples. This is inspiring me to try harder.
This is probably one of the most efficient and entertaining tutorials, i love this.
From the names alone, the rest of the videos look really promising and interesting, excited to see how this goes!
Thanks so much! I've known the basics since before I even started, but It's so helpful when it's broken down like this. Maybe now I can improve my animations and eventually work my way to a professional level.

Thanks a lot for making this guide :D Yesterday I made the decision that I wanted to start animating, so it was actually pretty funny that you made this video the day after :P

If you adjust the anchor point to the bottom, you can just adjust vertical scale. Edit 1: Use Fixed Mass for horizontal scale. (Only shows frames with num. of pixels=Mass set [and closest])
thanxalot..your tutorials are very helpful.
TYSM! 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Very useful I learned so much from your excellent explanation of the principle.
Excelent, thank you so much ;)
Thank you for the awesome tutorial! Out of curiosity, I want to ask if there is a way or a method to check and make sure that the volume of your animated object is the same throughout the animation when squashing and stretching?
Thank you, you helped me make my first animation with squash and stretch it was basic just a ball but still thank you 😊
Very cool! And all this you animate? Well, I mean, examples.
While watching this I was anticipating the second tutorial the whole time

OMG! Definitivamente eres el papu de los papus! Te amo, leer sobre animación es complicado si no se tiene ejemplos gráficos, gracias por el trabajo, te ganaste un suscriptor, si te tuviera aca reharía 1000000 hijos. TE AMO :3
Hey Alan thanks for making this, I've been a fan of your work since I was little. I have honestly never made an animation and would love to make one one day. I want to watch your tutorials but they're a few years old, will they be outdated or should I watch them anyways? Again thanks for this video it will be fun learning from you. :)
