#1 Neuroscientist: Reinvent Yourself In 2024 - Have The Best Year Of Your Life! | Dr. Tara Swart

Ойын-сауық

What if you could set habits that would increase your goals for longevity, productivity, or even creativity? Reflecting on our achievements, setting intentional micro habits, and taking sustainable and practical actions to achieve our goals can help us manifest the life we truly desire.
Today on The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down for round two with Dr. Tara Swart to answer his podcast community’s top questions. Dhru and Dr. Tara discuss setting goals for the New Year, best practices for manifestation, and the science behind the laws of attraction. Dr. Tara also discusses building neuroplasticity through challenging tasks, breaking free of addictions, setting boundaries, and shares practical tips to help navigate self-doubt and build confidence. Whether you want to manifest a stronger version of yourself, start a business, or even create healthier relationships in your life, this episode is for you.
Dr. Tara Swart is a neuroscientist, former psychiatric doctor, and senior lecturer at MIT Sloan. She is a visiting senior lecturer at Kings College, London, and an executive advisor to some of the world's most respected leaders in media and business. She is the lead author of the award-winning book Neuroscience for Leadership and was named the world's first Neuroscientist in Residence at Corinthia Hotel, London. Dr. Swart is passionate about teaching others how to apply lessons from cognitive science to enhance everyday lives.
In this episode, Dhru and Dr. Swart dive into:
-Dr. Tara’s year-end digital detox to reset
-Steps to put a digital break into practice and how a break can lead to healthier boundaries, creativity, and a deeper connection to nature
-Why setting two to three micro habits per quarter is a better practice than setting New Year’s resolutions
-Why it’s important to reflect on your achievements to set habits for the future
-Dhru’s top 3 questions of practice and gratitude reflection: what was challenging and was still accomplished, who did you help, and who has helped you
-Challenging your brain and developing neuroplasticity
-The science behind implementing small changes in your daily life to get 1% better each day
-Ensuring that you are practicing self-respect, nurturing yourself, and challenging yourself to build more confidence
-Addressing ghosts, deeply embedded neural pathways, and creating affirmations to show yourself you are deserving
-Dr. Tara’s six principles to help you determine if you are on the right path: abundance, magnetic desire, manifestation, patience, harmony, and universal connection
-The challenges that can arise when you try to manifest and the importance of resilience and listening to intuition
-Facing fear and uncertainty to ask: What is the best possible outcome in this scenario, and what would you do if you weren’t afraid
-Manifesting longevity by specifically listing what you need to implement in your life
-3 signs a relationship will fail: evolving at different paces, crossing boundaries, and holding your partner in contempt
-Manifesting a healthy relationship via physical connection and communicating their needs and likes
-Attracting the partner you want to manifest by reflecting on those characteristics in yourself
-Eye contact and laughing as a couple releases oxytocin and help build bonds
-Scheduling sex during stressful periods in life
-Loneliness is more prevalent, and how to seek out connections
-Reminders to help you remember your potential and purpose

I’ve stayed off FB and IG for 2 years! Never thought I’d do it. Once I stopped logging on I realised how much time was wasted reading about other egos and their lives. And their ‘poor me’ posts attention seeking etc. and I realised I don’t need to know what 500 People are doing on a daily basis, and instead focus on myself! Put all the energy there ❤

When you sit back and look at the bigger picture of social media you begin to see that it can actually make you depressed or inadequate. That is because most people lie about what they post. Besides periodically listening to some YT podcasts and glancing through my X feed I haven't gotten myself into any other kind of social media.

She's a doctor and frequently on call So if she can find time the rest of us can surely do it! I think you misunderstood, it's not necessary to have an assistant. You can stay off of your personal social media accounts and still do your job... smh Walking or runnimg in Nature, working out or doing hobbies is possible. Do it in the morning, at lunch or after work & is extremely helpful in balancing and relieving stress hormones. Stop making excuses and improve your life now! It's short and may be the only one we get!!!

I didn't notice any "mouth smacking sounds," and if they are there, I don't believe they're strong enough to keep most people from watching the video. There are a lot of comments on here, and out of the ones I've read, you're the only one who mentioned it. Maybe someone else did and I just didn't see it but I doubt it.🤷🏽‍♀️

Dr Tara As a psychotherapist, I worry that your statement about children also needing to experience hardships can be misunderstood by well meaning but misunderstanding parents. There are societies that do indeed actively cultivate this aspect. Sadly, many do this in a disconnected and heartless manner, leaving the children overwhelmed the experience and full of shame. It is important for children not to experience this amount of overwhelm and shame. Instead the children should be guided through hardship, noticing Mindfullness how the hardship feels and effects them, with a loving amd respectful adult acknowledging them all the way. The hardship is an opportunity to both ackmowledge that life is like this, but also that the journey in itself is rewarding, if we cultivate that mindset. This will help safe gaurd the children from dopamin addiction.
