Greetings from Rhode Island. I use a lot of old book pages and music sheets. Great way to upcycle and keep paper out of the landfill. I love these videos using just a few items

Old books eventually get thrown away. The older the book the more different the paper whether in texture, faded color, etc. I love use of papers in backgrounds and 1 good book can give you years of papers to use. Recycle and love the paper. That tulip is gorgeous.

ive had my two animalia books for quite a few days now and i love them!! I would love another one with just birds, more like what was in these two.

This was a lovely project. I have bought some clear Gesso after watching your tutorials and finding it great. I do think flower cards would be lovely. You could make cards from any of your books..seriously. I have also put the markers in my Wishlist. You are a bad influence [in a good way] on my bank balance. I have all of your new books . I’m so glad you loved all your animals enough to have 2 books of them. Animals are my favourite things. For anybody wanting to know which of your books to choose …you can’t….its impossible. You know that I think they’re the most beautiful books I’ve ever bought. I’ve taken them to my painting class and everyone there fell in love with them too. I am still binging on your old tutorials. In the ones I’m watching at the moment you have pink hair , just to give you a memory from the past. I am learning so much. Thank you for all your inspiration.

I love old book pages...if we don't use them they will be burnt or thrown away...obviously you wouldn't destroy a collectable one but there are plenty of old ones nobody wants...I would love a book of Australian native animals & flora...we have some awesome ones...😊❤

Hi Marta, listening to you talking about how we feel about using old book pages in our crafting... some time ago I accidentally bought two copies of one of my favourite books from charity shops (it's the sort of thing I do all the time these days!). So I consigned one copy to the crafting supplies. But because it's one of my favourite books I feel slightly guilty every time I tear out another page! And yet, other books that I haven't read, or wouldn't read, I don't care about tearing out pages! But I agree with you, re-using an old book in a new way is a good thing to do - especially if a charity has benefitted from you buying it in their shop ☺

As a writer and big reader, I won't destroy books like this, but what I have done is taken pictures of a page in a book and printed it on my printer. Then I can use that! Though thinking about it now, I might be tempted to rip up a romance novel because that's not "literature" 😆

You inspire me Marta! I have been using portions of paintings I’ve done that I loved but the whole painting I haven’t liked…. So I’m cutting out the parts I love and I’m collaging them into new creations! So fun!

I use book page and music paper everyday! I love the look you get with distressing ink too. The raw edges of the torn book page really absorbs the ink ❤

Just rewatched this video and thought, using the Karin brushpro markers really pushes this to looking like a total watercolor journal page. Love it. I think it would be great for cards. I’m going to have to give this a try with my Zig brushes pens as I don’t have too many Karin markers. I really enjoy your projects and all the hints and tip to obtain the look. ❤

Soo I was thinking 🤔🤔 about the fairies book. If you do another can you remember all dark skin peoples indigenous ,and Asians,etc. I'm light skinned but I was raised with them and I get sad when they get forgotten.

Hi Martha, I'am from The Netherlands. I love all of your art work. I have 4 of your books now. The fairies, butterflies and the 2 flower books. I am just a beginner. But iam so irritated that i am a perfectionist. I cant just go with the flow. I wish i coult just enjoy and make art. I'am always scared that i make something just ugly. In the beginning i worked with paint and all my work was so messy and ughh. Now i am to scared to start. And when I am making an art its not what i expected. I know i make it myself hard with all the super high expectations. But i dont know how to let go. Its frustrating. I watch all of your videos for inspiration. But i love your style.

I feel you...just know you are not alone! I too am I perfectionist and have to fight that fight still not wanting to waste things or ruin things that I may use later when I'm able to make what I want without just looking at the errors. I had to finally come to terms that I was never going to get to that place or get better without actually doing it and that each time I was frustrated or felt I failed or threw something away was something I learned. What did I like about the piece and what did I wish I could change really helped me see it as I'm learning and I can't expect to get better by limiting myself and since I'm learning and exploring everything is okay. This is just one small portion of the 10,000 hours to master something. And I promise if you can make yourself just start and not procrastinate soon you'll be able to see the progress from when you began to now. I will sometimes take a picture instead of keeping the art I hate or use it for collage because I couldn't stand it but I needed a marker to see that even when it doesn't feel it that I'm improving. Sorry for the long comment and plethora of run on sentences but this literally just poured out of me and I know if I go back to start correcting my mistakes I will send up not sending it. 😂 So, I hope this makes sense and you give yourself the freedom and permission to start. My wake up call came and I still find myself fighting just to start but these self talks helped a bunch. 😊

So beautiful! 🤩🤩🤩 I managed not to by your books for a few weeks (I really wanted them of course, but I said no, you have enough!). But then came the mushrooms and I couldn’t stop myself anymore! Of course I didn’t just bought the mushrooms, but also the fairies and the flowers! 😅

Just discovered your collection of collage ephemera. Thanks for the brief flip through of this flower collection, which I will be buying. I have a hard time finding images that speak to me. This book does. Would you please consider a collection of birds.

I bought 4 of your books and I’m dying to use them. Botanical vol 1, Fungos vol 1, Fairies in Bloom and Butterflies vol 1. I need to buy one of the animals as well but thought I better wait for a month or so. They are all wonderful and I can’t wait to dig in!

These are the most beautiful images I have ever seen. My daughter gave me the Flowers for mother's day. I did cut an image out but it broke my heart to make a cut in this gorgeous book! I have created them myself digitally, every image you see in the books was carefully created to suit our creative crafty minds :) I hope this helps

I think you can't shadow until you gesso your whole page..Its not working for me..!! Its give a whole mess vibe..!!
