Now you really know why those of us old enough to have witnessed this version of Jordan find it comical when they try to compare a mere mortal to him. I've always said that whomever passes him as the GOAT will not be from this planet.

Jordan was the most pure scorer in the league. He was virtually un guardable and he welcomed any and all challengers to his throne. He had all the offensive moves anyone could ever want. He also was very fundamentally sound which is what made his moves seem smooth like butter. Micheal Jordan is the GOAT

Haha this was hilarious. Great reaction video. Growing up in Chicago this was a nightly occurrence for us to see. There’s no way to describe the excitement knowing the Bulls we’re playing because you knew that Mike was going to do something you’ve never seen before. His highlights are only a part of what makes this man a legend. His relentless attack and never ending energy on both ends of the court was unmatched. His ability to score in every way imaginable. You can see the difference in todays game where it’s an open lane to a lay up. Mike was finishing at the rim with with crowded lanes during the time of bigs being defensive enforcers. No one in the current league ever played at this level of dominance

It's been too long since I really played all-out, but back in the day I worked on my vert mostly with three things: For calves, I would put a barbell on my shoulders, put on the radio, and start doing one-leg calf raises for one whole song, then switch to the other leg for the next song, then back for the next, back and forth like that until my calves were just burning so bad I couldn't do any more. (One leg meaning I used the toe of my other foot just to keep my balance but that's all). A lot of people don't realize how much lift you can get from your shoulders, so another thing I did was a combo with an EZ-curl bar, started with an upright row with grip a little closer than shoulder-width, then pressed up, then back down into the upright row position, down, up again and repeat. Try to make the movements as explosive as you can without getting too sloppy. Last, I just played a lot an tried to jump as high as I could EVERY time, 'cause I was inspired by how MJ seemed to always be jumping as high as he could even for just a midrange. I would play from the time I got off school or work until they closed the gym, then sometimes I would go eat and then go meet some guys to play at a playground somewhere for a couple more hours. Doing all that, when I was around 20 years old I was 6 foot, around 240 lbs, and I could dunk a mini-ball. I never could get higher than that because of my fat ass, but I surprised a lot of people by how high I could get up.

This is what I always bring up as the thing that ultimately separates him from pretty much everyone. Most with his skill and talent just coast off of it. Normally the player without the skill are the ones who put in the hours of footwork and spend hours and years in the gym (Think Dirk) to become something. This guy MJ had the athleticism and didn’t settle. The footwork is phenomenal.

Size does not equal strength. Jordan was very lean and very strong. Being lean is what enabled him to be so savvy and athletic. He could slide between double teams and wiggle by defenders while in the air because he was so lean. But get under the rim when he comes in for a dunk and you'll see just how strong he became. The Pistons created that monster!

The thing was, was that we didnt know it would happen. Looking from today's eyes, it may seem obvious but, they earned & worked for all those championships. He proved to be close to unstoppable at every challenge.

@@Tcheera I feel what you're saying but,MJ always gave the fans a show . You have to remember MJ didn't do load management or anything like that....If the game is not a blowout, you can bet MJ's gonna keep playing and get his 50 especially if someone talks sh*t to him.

  • @Tcheera

    @Tcheera

    Жыл бұрын

@@Jimmy-ik2kc I know he didn't, but times and the game have changed. I think players get their dollars, but they have to load manage and don't get the choice a lot. I don't think players get to play hurt now, when back then it was encouraged. Remember back in the day we said no pain, no gain. Now we know for most players that ended careers early. But... I think we also don't know for sure what the right answer is. Every time they think they cracked the code, they find out they didn't really. I think MJ just was kinda a genetic freak of nature -- I mean we all saw him take falls that could've paralyzed or broken bones of others a lot. He was mad resilient. Some just are, some aren't. But today if you paid someone what MJ would be paid (which let's be real would be more than any megastar) they'd probably err on the side of babying him to milk as many years as they can. He just happened to come up in a time when he could write in a "for the love of the game" rider.

The scary thing is look what he does when there’s like kinda less paint protection. Instead of there being like 2-3 guys in the paint and it’s not bloody Hakeem or Admiral it’s like 1-2 guys and they are only average paint protectors - MJ drives and just scores on everybody jumping over around through whoever - now look at that Lakers-Warriors game today - where the Warriors literally had no paint protection at all. Essentially starting Draymond at C - prime Jordan would murder it. Murder it.

    1. First off, nobody in today's league has Jordan's vertical period. Speaking of today's athleticism, the league has changed the rules for "athletic" guards to showcase their athleticism and shine because the league has thought athleticism would draw more attention and bring more $. They desperately wanted the next MJ since he retired. Moreover, if athleticism means so much, then James White wouldn't be riding the bench and players like Luka would be a nobody. There's a limit to what the human body could endure. It's no surprising that many "athletic" players get injured and their career is short-lived. There's a reason why load management is a thing in today's league. Lebron cut all his weight and lost unnecessary muscles for a reason. Players during the golden age had wear and tear on their body early in their career due to the physicality of the game. There was no such thing as load management. It was all about the pride during the golden age. Almost all the players couldn't showcase their "athleticism" due to the tough rules and monsters lurking in the paint. It's understandable why your friend avoids to watch the clips and is in denial. There are people that still think Earth is flat and want to dwell on their fantasy. Just tell your friend "Air Jordan/Nike" and all the collaboration they are doing. The World knows what's up. 2. The centre on the Lakers team was Vlade Divac, an all star in the 2000s. 3. Just because you got thick legs doesn't mean you could jump higher and are stronger. As a matter of fact, a lean figure with full of twitch muscle fibers inside would make you stronger and more explosive with more endurance. Michael Jordan was exceptionally strong for his body size. Check out some interviews of former NBA players who played against him and roided Lebron. They all would tell you that MJ's the strongest they'd ever faced. You could also tell his strength from his plays. Another example: Bruce Lee "I remember one day [Bruce] walks up with 75 pounds barbells. He locks down in standing position and starts on his chest. He sticks them straight out in slow motion, holds them and sustains. Try it. Try it half that weight and you'd know what 75 pounds feel like and I know guys who can bench press 500 pounds. They can get it out but they can't hold it." - Joe Lewis

There are NOT people in the league that athletic or with Jordan’s jumping ability. Let me say it again… THe HIGHEST RECORDED VERTICAL IN NBA HISTORY at 48 MF inches AND with the quickest first step, AND the quickest jab step, AND with the longest hang time ever, the largest hands of any guard, remember his hands are even bigger that kawhi leornard’s hands. Please google Jordan palming a MF pumpkin….palming a FULL SIZE PUMPKIN! Oh yeah all of that with the best mid range ever , best scoring percentage and oh yeah, a MF 4.3 40 yard dash! Your friend don’t know what the hell he’s talking about! For Real!!! Love your page Bros! Continued success!

#3 is Craig Ehlo of the Cavaliers. 4:38 This is from the video "It always happens to Craig Ehlo." Ehlo was the Cav that Jordan hit "The Shot" on. MJ tortured Ehlo for years.

That's how good MJ was... it's why we always shake our heads when someone thinks there's another NBA player who's on this level.

Jordan Dunked on young KD, a young Shaq, and he swatted Vince in his prime. He played against a guy whose defence was so good he was nicknamed the glove. Look up the best defensive players of all time and Jordan played most of them. He still play young cats when they come to visit his gym. Come on guy.

Mike mastered proprioception. Mike knows where he is in relation to time and space. Meaning when he takes off, he knows where everything else is including the rim and his relative distance between said objects. We all practice it on accident to an extent, some have a better grasp than others.

I don’t know your friend but the assumption that Jordan didn’t go up against any athletic opponents is ill informed and idiotic. It’s always amazing to me how those that haven’t researched or just watched games prior to their era will talk the most, do their best impression of Nick Wright(Wrong) and make crazy statements like that.

I'll tell you what you can do to get them hops right? You get on the sit down squat press. I'm telling y'all what machine to use. Sit down squat press. Use it for your calf muscles. Angle your feet in different positions and start just flexing your ankles. Move your feet in different positions so that you can work the entire calf muscle symmetrically all the way around it. You want to work that all the way around the cab muscle even into going into the front of your calf. You want that muscle right there by that knee. When you flex your toes upward towards you, you will see that that muscle flexes right there next to your knee. You want to work that out too. Remember what I said. Use the squad press machine. Do your squats with it your leg presses and then go straight to your calf muscles with the same machine. It'll give you what you looking for in less than 2 weeks and if you want to get that cat light quickness that he has, I suggest you get you a membership where they have a swimming pool you get in the pool just high enough to wear. It can make you feel like you're struggling the move and start running around in the pool as if you're doing your dribbling routine or how you side step. You know creating space between you and that person do that in the water. The water will fight you every inch of the way which will make you build muscles that you never knew you had. And when you get out of that water and you make a move to run sideways or like you dodging some person. Oh look and see how much faster you moving now that you out of that water and then you will know why Jordan has that cat like quickness now this ain't just going to happen cuz you doing this. You're going to have to work hard but those are the routines that I suggest you guys use it. Give you what you looking for in two weeks. This will happen for you. No pain, no gain. Once you get it though, you're going to be proud. Let me know if it worked for you. I know what I'm talking about too. I'm already 53 years old so we have all the best old techniques for working out. Trust me
