I never truly understood the phrase "Preoccupied with a leaf, you'll miss the tree. Preoccupied with a single tree, you'll miss the forest. Don't be preoccupied in a single spot... See everything in it's entirety... Effortlessly." But now I'm starting to understand. I was too focused on my past, that I never enjoyed the present. I was too depressed and moody to enjoy my hobbies. I have to learn to not get preoccupied with events I can't change anymore and focus more on now. Enjoy my life while I still can. But I shouldn't get too preoccupied with the present, I have to think about my future too. I still don't know what course to take for college. But I'm sure I'll find my answer along the way. One day, I'll see everything in it's entirety... Effortlessly, without feeling anxiety or doubting myself. Thank you, Takehiko Inoue.

My name is Ota Noritada. I'm 27 years old. I was born in Harima province, I do not have a wife, or kids. I work as a swordsmith in my own store, and I get home every day by 9 pm at the latest. I don't drink, but I occasionally smoke. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and I make sure to get 8 hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of milk an working out for 35 minutes nonstop I have no problems in sleeping until the morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. But my life wasn't always like this, when I was just 8 years old I had to fight tigers, wolves, and bears bare handed. When I was 18 I had to fight to defend my town from invaders and to restore our freedom. But today I'm simply a man that wishes to live a quiet life. I do not trouble myself with any enemies, I just want to live my own life. But let me tell you... If I have to fight again, heads will roll.

When you close ranks with the opponent, and the opponent strikes with the long sword, counter by deflecting it to the right. When the opponent strikes again, you hit the point of his sword back up; your sword now having bounced downward, leave it as it is until the opponent strikes again, whereupon you strike the opponent’s hands from below. - The book of the Five Rings (Water Scroll)

You know what’s strange about this video, the audio has nothing to do with musashi however because of the title it just gives a different feeling it feels like u are with musashi meditating. Rlly cool how such a small thing almost insignificant can make such a difference.

Let your will be stubborn like your hair the more you cut it the faster and stronger it becomes but take care of it and it will come back beautiful longer and softer than it ever was before, the meaning behind this is no matter what there’s only 2 ways comeback stronger or softer but whichever one it is its still very beautiful in its own little way ~just made this up tbh~

Really enjoyed listening to this whilst doing some baking. I would recommend halving the volume of the resonance that occurs about halfway through though, it felt inorganic and overpowered the nature. It became something I could count between resonances which distracts from the serenity. Otherwise a very beautiful piece!

Not really much to say about my life. It's just the usual everyday stress of the last year of school before college. Of course, I came here from Vagabond and Musashi. Been reading especially the novel a lot lately. They're some of the best, most inspiring pieces of media I've ever consumed. I've been looking for other things to relieve stress, something that isn't just Doom. Something more physical, like martial arts--or exercise, at the very least. Just so happened that the house my family and I live in currently has this old, somehow rather rust-free Japanese-styled sword that I could probably barely call a katana, and I've been thinking of trying out iaido. (Yes, iaido, not kendo, though I might actually be craving kendo more.) Maybe I could put the ol' thing to use, both for fun and meditation. Even a basic forward swing can be crazy fun. Might I add that I didn't expect the weight of the katana at all. I expected it to be light and relatively easy to swing, and it is, yet it's not quite what I expected. I usually only do forward swings, and stopping it before it hits the floor takes effort. It might be my flimsy arms, but it puts quite the strain on them. Still, I keep swinging every now and then to see how many swings I could do before my arms give up. It's become kind of a game.

I am the clearing. At the root of the divine. The reciprocal of truth for which there is no opposite. The synergy of light and dark. I am the deep reservoir that awaits the silence and the sound. The depths of the ocean crush me with loving pressure and my diamonds are revealed older than memory. You can find me behind the stars, between gasps, and beyond the sun. My magnitude knows no bounds and my valley knows no origin. My canyon, the home to winds of eternal song. My life is death in motion, and I am the leaves scattered by the swaying branches of time. Heart sighs. Returning home in this frozen moment. I am the clearing.
