As the song of war shrouds you in a fog of hellish roars mingled with the clash of weaponry, you watch your companions embrace the dust. The siren call of Death woos your senses, as grief sends you to its embrace. But prior to exchanging vows with the reaper, you remember the sunny face of your little one at home, and you realize, no matter how hopeless the battle, you would never want the sun to be deprived of its shine. Clutching the grenade at your belt, you tear off the clasp and wait for the oncoming horde. The sun repairs to slumber, and just before it sinks before the horizon, you soliloquize: "It is finished." Just as the remaining shards of your existence is reduced to burning ash. No one knew of the hero who put an end to the war, no one remembered your sacrifice, but an entire generation was able to live a better life, free from the terror of war, because of your selfless act to give yours.

Once you reach the edge of the Mountian, you see a rock, overlooking the entire town. You all hear cheers and cries from the townspeople. "They have returned! After so many long years, they have returned!!" Slowly you and your brothers look down at the townspeople and wave. You were finally where you are meant to be, home. You stared into the beautiful sunset over the city, clasping onto your brothers' hands, you could feel the warmth of the sun hitting your body, but not only the sun, the feeling of being home, the feeling of seeking true potential within your powers after all of these years of protecting your home. You close your eyes, and let it all in. "We're finally home." A smile crept onto your face as you look at your brothers, who had the exact same look on their faces. "We finally did it," You gasped. "We finally made it home."

Knees skinned, back aching, panting hard with sweat beading down your brow, you heave yourself to the top of the mountain crest and lean on your bloodied sword. "The fighting's over now," you murmur, and bask in the glorious view sweeping before you. The sun bursts over the horizon, shattering the long night that had shrouded the land, painting the heavens red and gold. The rocky mountain peaks surrounding you glitter in the brilliance of daybreak. You can see forested glades and rolling meadows far beneath you, along with the trail of smoke spiraling up from a familiar village. Home. You can almost taste the warm bread filling your ravenous stomach, feel the hot bath easing your soreness, hear the applause of your neighbors welcoming you home. "I made it," you tell yourself, victory and relief swelling within you. Hanging your weary head, you start down the mountain, sword still in hand, but a smile now on your lips. "I made it."
