Been going boxing on and off for last 5 years footwork always seem a big part of what separates competent and the really good fighters in the gym. If u can control the range generally u control the fight. I get lazy with footwork as soon as I start to gas - reminds me to go for the extra run or do more skipping! Thank u Tony your videos always inspire me even if I’m not currently training

@@scootsn Break the habit by training in orthodox stance until it’s all your brain knows and it becomes second nature. If you’re good in southpaw u can always switch hit and change stance now and again to confuse opponents very handy to have that.

Thank you Tony for all your informative videos that helps keep my training correct and fun to do. Your humbleness and passion really shows and makes you stand out from the rest 🙏
I’ve just started boxing training at 41, for a charity boxing event. I’ve watched loads of these videos. Think they are brilliant, easy to follow instructions well delivered. Thanks Tony, will let you know how I get on
Have done karate on and off for 10 years with a lil kung fu and other things mixed in. My sensei always encouraged us to mix and learn what’s useful from different styles of all martial arts . Always been a fan of boxing now wanting to take it more seriously. Thank you for such an easy to understand well explained video. I hope to become an all around fighter one day and I think you for this .
Love the video coach! I interpreted it like this. Whatever direction you want to move, push off the opposite leg and land on the punch and opposite foot at the same time. I recorded my punches exactly like this, rotating my hips and letting the shoulder be loose, like a swinging motion, and you can hear it whip!!!! Thank you! I’ve been pushing my punches the entire time (just two months now) but this just changed my game entirely!
Thank you Tony, You are a great trainer! Clear and straight to the point! I am training with this channel almost 3 months, just the basics. I feel more comfortable against heavy bag!
I just joined a new gym that has weekly boxing classes. I dabbled in karate once upon a time but wasn't allowed to keep it up. Been wanting to go into some kind of martial arts since I was a kid and now that I finally can, I'm taking those weekly classes and I'm excited to start learning. Just found your channel and the playlist for beginners. Gonna start practicing these drills and try to steadily improve more and more during my time in-between the classes. Best of luck to all the other beginners like me!
This is exactly the video i needed today. Ty Tony
Thank you Master Jeffries for the tutorials, I learned a lot from you!

Great stuff as always. I find it always helpful to back up and start from beginner work from time to time. Cleans up flaws that have crept in over time. Thanks for what you do.

@@User75314 I think if you want something that would help on a street I'd say either is good. But to be honest on the street I'd feel wrestling or jiu jitsu would help the best as you can control someone with out doing too much damage and getting yourself in trouble with the law. Boxing is great though. I'm sure this channel has a video about fighting in a street fight

Hey Tony I have a question ever since I was seven I have boxed but I'm right handed and I am still fighting south paw can I just stick with that?
Do you have exercises to strengthen ankles and knees
Fir self defence should i learn boxing or some other martial arts?
I like that phase attack, you forgot to mention to switch it up, not just do 1-2 all the time. Phase attack is great to create broken rhythm attacks, and feints. It's easy to train someone to a rhythm if you step and punch, and it becomes even easier to break that rhythm. Human perception is built on pattern recognition, so you feed your opponent a pattern, then break it. Hypnosis boxing.
@kristianjensen5877
2 жыл бұрын
Attack rythm and breaking it is kind of moving into more advanced principles on how to think during a boxing match though. If you're a beginner struggling with execution or teach beginners basic execution, how and why to alternate patterns can be a tough sell if the student is just learning or struggling with basics of punching and movement.
Plz show us how to do boxers bounce
I can’t really afford going to a gym so I’ve started by myself at home. And the movement feels awkward and a bit difficult.
Hi tony, I’ve been boxing since summer last year and I’ve taken a great love to the sport. I box at a club called Westree boxing club who have raised fighters such as Sam ‘midge’ noakes and Sean noakes. I have my first bout this Friday and I’m very nervous as I’m not too sure what to expect. If you could give me a few tips that would be great. Love the channel. Don’t stop. Thanks, Harry Gillies👍🏼

When throwing a cross your backfoot would normally twist with your hips - im assuming its not done here because if youre moving in/out you dont wanna be twisting your foot lol. Any thoughts on this?
