Thank you for that _shirt over dress and finish it with a belt_ trick!! I have one very pretty and flowy midi dress that I considered to get rid of because of its deep plunging neckline.. this trick just gave me some fresh ideas to get back in wearing that lovely dress again! ..and not to throw it away! Love this, Emily. I have all these items but would never have thought of the leggings under the skirt. Genius tip as are the various belt hacks. Excellent suggestions. I own 4 dresses that I wear year round (Canada). Each dress has a different color palette & pattern. I then add basics to them according to season. I have pumps, ankle boots and knee boots in both black & brown (I don't wear trainers or slides). I have only 1 purse and a couple of scarves as accessories (I don't like belts & don't wear jewelry). I don't like fussing with clothes and keep a very simple & small amount of clothing pieces.

Thanks! I just bought a beautiful black linen dress at a thrift shop. I loved the fabric so much I did not even try it on. Although I originally thought it would be much too large, it fit perfectly. I cannot wait to try some of your ideas.

My weight fluctuates a great deal, so I have trousers in many different sizes, so recently I decided to start wearing dresses instead, so I am looking for styling tips, as I need to be able to wear everything I own to work, as I spend 80% of my life there, and also decided recently that surely I can wear dresses all year round. Love the dress itself. Wish I’d was available! Personally I hate things as fussy as making a dress into a skirt, but I love layering turtle neck skivvys under sleeveless dresses! I’d do that combined with your other winter tips :)

I just rewatched this and found the belt hacks genius! I bought my LBD probably 15 or 20 years ago and it hung in my closet for a long time because I had gained weight, but it is such a classic and really well-made with a wonderful drape, so I was thinking of how I could wear it now (fits now!!!) not just in the summertime. I googled because I couldn’t remember which you tuber had talked about how to style a summer lbd-bingo! I might use a cashmere jumper instead but the ideas are terrific!

So in love with your channel! Can’t believe I only found it recently. Absolutely love your style Emily, thank you for sharing them with us! For someone who got married half a globe away from home and has only 20% of my wardrobe (all neutrals and basics) with me in the new place, your style tips are absolutely life-saving! Could you do a video on how (fashion modes) wear and style with belts to glam up the outfits (for formal occasions) or just to add a bit of a twist to a very basic neutral outfit? I wear midi drezses with boots...usually they are summer knits etc that I add tops to as you have done. WIth knit midis s,irts in brown, more my color than balck. I wear sleeve.ess summer blouses with long sleeve tops underneath then a cognac blazer or camel, and variojs shades of brown leather and suede jackets I have. I also have a brown button up shirtwaist dress in fauux suede I wear. As a duster over straight midi skort and bolts and also brown leather pants with helt as you do..stunning outfit with a fedora!

MsYosTube oh yes I did this on my Instagram stories! I will create a highlight and pop it on my Instagram page. I wouldn’t quite call it professional though 😝 I was self taught. My best advice would be, look at the fabric of your garment and google how it shrinks. All fabrics are so different, so best to know what to expect before starting to shrink it. I’ll pop up a story highlight today! X
