Okay 😂 ~learning this sitting on a park bench next to a old lady 89 years of age who has been doing crochet from age of 7~ and she has NEVER seen this before ~ so now out comes her hook and wool ~ she’s now learning right beside me!! I have also discovered that she lives close by me ~ so I can go over with my device so we can keep learning together!!

I was just thinking the same thing, although I'm from the US. There's a bit of irony here, too, since the stitch is named after an Indian tribe here which is out west, and I'm in the east.

I showed my husband your videos and he said “Oh wow! This is why you want to learn crochet?” Yep yep. So he brought me a bag full of different brightly coloured yarn to practice with this week! You’re that much of an inspiration. 😉

This lady is the most genuinely talented teacher on utube. I am dyspraxic, so I love that she uses a pad to remind you of what row are working. She is the last teacher you will ever need. Fantastic. Big fan.

you too? i need a script to read each time i have recite a closing page for my store, often or not i close 3 or 4 x a week and it's already forgotten. i must read it or i can't recite it correctly. my managers get upset with me but i do so well when I have something in front of me so i don't forget. Or i will not do well. i get mixed up and i feel so crummy for the rest of the night.

Do find crochet helpful with your diagnosis? This is very interesting to me as I have an adult child with this same thing and would like to help her find something she enjoys that may benefit her too

I am so happy I found your channel. I have crocheted since I am 8 years old, and now 75 years of age. I have seen mosaic crochet videos on KZread, but they were not something I thought I could do. It looked too complicated. Your video is the first I have seen that explains in such a way It need not be difficult. My first practice piece was a little wonkier than I thought normal. I too learned to crochet at 10, now 75 in 3 wks. I have done the drop down a row before on sweater designs ,but always dropping down to the same dbl stitch below. I've never done mosaic crochet but have done mosaic knitting. Tinna's instruction is incredibly detailed and easy to follow. I appreciate how she explains why she's doing each techique which helps me understand and follow the instruction. I also like that right up front she tells us not to worry about all those ends and how her techniques will avoid weaving them in at the end. I can see how I would be discouraged from attempting her designs if I thought I had to weave them in. A+ for terrific explanations!

My mother had made her brother a Queen size blanket of Apache Tears in the late "70's", it was done in Turquoise, Red, Black, Grey, and White it was Beautiful! I never asked my Mom how she did it? Jill Stern I always use stitch markers at the beginning and end of many projects. This really helps me keep track of edges. The markers are a simple tool with a lot of punch.

I know I am late in discovering this video; however, I am SO glad I did! When I became permanently disabled, I really was missing my career as a hospital Maternity/NICU RN. I decided to learn how to crochet via KZread videos, and have donated all my items to a hospital nursery and hospice organization. I recently moved across country and I'm getting the itch to be productive again. I was thinking of learning how to knit, but now I am thinking of learning how to do Mosaic Crochet!! Thanks!! But do tell everyone how easy it is! Share what you have learned just as she has shared with you. Be free with your knowledge, don’t keep it a secret. If you want to be less than, yet only appear better than others, then by all means keep it to yourself, but if you want everyone to increase their knowledge and joy, including yourself, then share, share, share! If you want to learn more, then teach more. I don’t believe in keeping learning and techniques a secret from others. Just as you have been blessed, I hope you share that blessing with others.

Hello Tinna I have never heard of this type of crocheting. It's beautiful and I am so thankful and grateful you are teaching us. Thank you for taking of your time to make this tutorial. I love it. Your blanket is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to learn more. I started crocheting when I was 13 and I'm 63. I just recently picked it back up and I am loving it. I made the mosaic crocheted blanket for my son. He is 6 feet tall so it took a while to finish. He loves it. Thank you for teaching me how.

Someone in my Facebook group just completed a mosaic crochet blanket and was saying how easy it was to do. After watching this video I can do this!!! Liking do ghosts to started a mosaic project. Just need to think about my color choices. Thank you for posting this video. 🙂

You are so right! This is addicting! I did my first swatch following you, while it wasn't perfect (missed a stitch because I didn't pay attention) it was so fun! I subsequently did another swatch following you again and was more careful... I think I've got it now! 😊 I also have been crocheting for about 45 years or so but was intimidated by the Apache Tears stitch. After watching your first podcast video, I wanted to see how you taught. You are truly a gifted teacher as well as artist! I've been to the Reykjavik airport a few times enroute to Norway to visit relatives. The views from the airport are beautiful, but you podcast video really enhanced what I already knew... Iceland is an enchanted country! The Icelandic people are beautiful inside and out from under what I've experienced in the airport. I am hoping one day I can stay in Reykjavik for a "real visit" on a future trip to Norway. I will definitely check out Reykjavik Roasters when I do! Tusen Takk!

This is truly amazing, I am self taught and I am proud of how far I have come. I saw this type of crochet scrolling through videos and thought there was no way I'd be able to do something this complicated, I don't feel that way now. Thank you so much for your lessons and sweet personality, I think I have finally found my favorite way to crochet. I subscribed to learn more lessons!!

When I was a teenager (ages ago!) I did a zigzag type of stitch like this but never got anywhere NEAR as creative as the things you’ve shown at the beginning. I used to do ten rows with all different colors, then the next row was always black. All rows had the drop down stitch, every ten stitches. 🤔 …except maybe the black rows didn’t drop down. I can’t quite remember. Came out pretty cool though. I love the idea of taking this to another level of creativity! Thank you so much for your tutorial. You are so much fun to listen to.

I never knew what this pattern was called. I had a blanket that my grandmother made in this pattern and I always loved it and couldn't wrap my head around how it worked. Thank you! I think it's time to re-create a grandma blanket.

Oh my goodness! I've been crocheting 20 years and have never seen mosaic crochet before! I think I've been living under a rock lol! 🤣 Thank you for these wonderful tutorials; you are great at teaching! And you were right... I'm hooked! I can't wait to make a whole blanket for my 4-year-old granddaughter (in Frozen colors, of course!) but I want to finish all 5 tutorials first to learn all the gems you are sharing with us! 💗 (And... I have been searching for instructions on this pattern. I received a baby blanket as a gift for my baby daughter that was custom made for my mother-in-law’s friend at a department store in1980. I loved the pattern and my mother who crocheted from her early childhood was very smitten with it and unable to figure out the pattern before she passed away many years later. I have shown it to multiple friends who crochet and they also were perplexed by the pattern. Now finally it can be duplicated! Thank you for this wonderful instructional video.

I just completed my first mosaic crochet project after watching your video. I made a pillow. One side is Apache Tears & the other was a mosaic pattern of my own design. I’m very happy with the result. I loved your video tutorial. After knitting for somewhere close to 40 years I finally learned to crochet.

great lesson, i love your humor, my 94 yr old Auntie made this pattern in a yellow orange brown and beige blanket that she gave me, looks like an Indian blanket for real,, oh i'm 70 so still learning, lol

I printed your Havana blanket pattern years ago but never did it. I just found the photocopy in a pile of patterns and I'm just now learning how to do it. You're right, it's way easier than it looks. Can't wait to finish something!
