Most filipinos are scammers and criminals. The crime rate is very high. The intentional homicide rate is at 6.46 per 100k population which is the highest in South East Asia. If you plan to visit South East Asia, Philippines is the place where the chances are the highest to be murdered.

I am in Cebu now, for the first time, in IT Park. I am here for vacation. (I am from the U.S.) I went to Ayala Terrace and I was looking for you everywhere! Haha. Your interviews and videos really helped me with my journey to the Philippines, so thank you so much! I am here for another week, but will definitely come back to the Philippines in thr future. Some things I like are: Nice people, "movie star status" because I am a foreigner, and the food is amazing here and super cheap compared to the U.S.. Some things I dislike are :"movie star status" because I am a little shy (I like it too though, haha), the children beggars (very sad, but I am told not to give to them or they will use the money for something bad or ask again the next day), I live in TX, so I am used to the heat, but it is very humid here. Thanks so much for all your informative videos Alex and I wish you and your channel the best!

The advice I would give to first timers is to be patient. You are no longer in the west, so don't expect snappy service. They are operating on island time, and on islands, no one is in a rush to do anything quickly.

Philippines is a very poor and underdeveloped country. According to the world bank, 37% of the population still live in slums as of 2020. With a gdp per capita (PPP) of 11420 in 2023, which is only half of the world average of 22226, making it one of the poorest countries in the world. Most filipinos are scammers and criminals. The crime rate is very high. The intentional homicide rate is at 6.46 per 100k population which is the highest in South East Asia. If you plan to visit South East Asia, Philippines is the place where the chances are the highest to be murdered. The currency is weak and the minimum wage is only 300 USD. Foreigners from first world countries can fully take advantage of the weak currency. Also since filipinos are very poorly educated, there is abundance of this cheap labour all throughout the country. The national dish of the Philippines is called "pagpag." It's made by refrying chicken bones that have been collected from the trash. Since the majority of the people in the Philippines live in slums and lack education, a lot of them have to find discarded bones in restaurants, refry them, and eat them. Great interview! Thank you Alex! I had a very negative experience helping children in the Philippines and I must tell you about it. Although it's all in my videos. At the beginning of the development of my channel, I decided to just buy the children playing basketball near my house, new ball and told my subscribers about it. They sent me money, I bought the ball and gave it to the children. He released a video about it with 5,000 views. What was my surprise and disappointment, when one of the subscribers wrote that I was probably interested in children sexually !!! Now if I help children, I never show it on video and I don’t ask for help from subscribers. This is such a sad story. I have three adult children, a daughter and two sons, they all work in Germany as refugees. Adoptive daughter, I raised her from 1 year to 25 and I never even thought about what the subscriber wrote!

I'm glad you allowed people to be candid about the good and bad side of living in the Philippines especially the retired Canadian teacher. Some KZreadrs like to share only the good sides making the Philippines look like heaven on earth. And some foreigners feel like it's not nice to say bad things about the Philippines. I just think people should be honest and not sugar coat the truth. Even the most developed countries have their bad areas. The Philippines have very friendly as well as very dangerous people and places just like every country. It's wise to stay away from questionable places and people.

Been in the PH for a couple years now and have to say it's been a good experience overall. Best people for sure... food is not my style but in the bigger cities you can get a good assortment. Tough to get used to the noise levels though, that's been my main problem in the PH. Booming karaoke and barking dogs are 24/7 it seems, especially in the provinces.

I am a Filipina living in the Philippines. Just like anywhere else in the world, there are pros and cons to living here. If you like the quiet and simple life, find a province like Dumaguete or Bukidnon or Bohol. Try to vacation with friends/family and see how you like it. If you dont, no loss because its just a vacation. If you like the hustle and bustle of the city, try Cebu, BGC or Davao. Try it and stay at a location other than a hotel. Maybe a fully furnished apartment and see how it fits the life you want to live. The Phils will not be for everybody. And whatever you reap, you sow. If you genuinely want to connect with people, you will. But if you dont, dont be surprised if people, dont really care for you. A genuine desire to connect carries with it the willingness to adjust. Enjoy the Philippines!. For sure, talking with people is easier here than neighboring.countries..

I was there for one month in 2023. Please tell me where the savings is when you go to the philippines. Because I didn't see any savings in anything!. Hotels cost the same. Food in the stores was actually priced higher than in New York. Gas was not cheaper. So please people inform me of what I overlooked when I was visiting in the Philippines.

Long, sad and negative stories I experienced living part time in my beautiful and beloved old country the Philippines 🇵🇭... But just to find out getting a hard time blending again with my old country men! They take you as a millionaire having a lot money that could help them anytime with their daily lives aside from stealing something that you have and they don’t,,.. [Big poverty in the islands one big reason] Worst was when they ransacked my house when we’re out of town!! So I said “ That’s it, enough is enough” so I PUT my house in rhe narket, 5 years in the making and back in the US 🇺🇸 for good,,

Why avoid Manila? There are many good places in the capital region. Travel from airport is a breeze using tje skyway whether to business districts, north, south, east. Manila has modern business districts that can rival other cities around the world. The full underground subways are under construction and will open in few years. This will enhance connectivity with ease soon.

The philippines is an American invention named after the Spanish king who initially invaded. It did not exist until America conquered the areas in Mindanao that Spain couldn’t and forced the different regions under the colonial government. A million filipinos died as a result of the colonization, far more than Japan ever killed during WW2. Culturally and economically, it is still a U.S. colony - even Jose Rizal was chosen by the colonial government because he was against independence from Spain and a pacifist. The US also established the government and educational system - hence the blind loyalty of filipinos to their colonial masters/creators.
