I'm 40 years old and these guys could tour today and I would be there. I feel sooooooo sorry for these young kids today that will never experience anything remotely close to this.

RIP to Rick James, hearing this and other stories about him just puts things in a better perspective.. And explains why he felt like everyone turned their backs on him, when he was at his lowest. I've heard that Rick was generous, and if he rocked with you it showed, I've also heard Rick was difficult at times to deal with. Overall it's just dope to hear people give the brother his juss-due, instead of constantly making him the butt of every joke. Cause he definitely was someone to somebody!

Rick was a beast... another gone too soon, but was a major playa in the late 70s, and needs more credit for his contributions. This current generation doesn't know enough about him

Please understand, this man Mike, went on to be a MAJOR business man!!! He learned the hard lessons from the adults that failed him as a youth in business, and became a giant in the industry. Created mega groups like Boys II men and others.

Never realized how big an influence Rick James was on NE. Math doin it again.

Kudos to Mike for not letting interjections interrupt his thought process during the interview and how Mike was paying homepage to his beloved Producer Rico, New Editions Manager(discipline to hone their craft , the Attorney(s), beloved Jam Master Jay, Rick James . I enjoyed one of their " Best Tours on Landover, Maryland ❤️! " Love you beloved Math Hoffa for the EXPERT Opinions.!

Rick James was a real unsung hero. He bragged about himself but I don’t really remember him bragging about all of the things he’s received props for after his passing like how many ways he’s helped others outside of the actual music. He was a real one.

They better put New Edition in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and give them the Kennedy Honors Award. There is absolutely no excuse for who ever is on the board to ignore this amazing group. Luv New Edition forever❤❤.

Excellent story! I saw Rick James when he came to Columbus on his Come Get it tour back when live bands was king he killed it! Then fired up a blunt! Of course CPD was waiting to arrest him he didn't come back till the L7 tour he's an R&B icon in his own lane and made stars of every artist he touched (Check Temptations standing on the top) New Edition are in the same vein except they are ICONS LIVING!
