I retired from the USAF last year. Used to race 1/10 Bolinks and Losi JRX cars at the local hobby shop when I was a kid, even bought a Traxxas Hawk when the truggy's were starting to be cool. Bought a bunch of used junk off ebay and been messing around with Xrays and TLR in 1/8 and 1/10. I doubt I'll race for a while but your channel has been informative. I might buy a TLR 8ight truggy and see how I like it. Keep up the good work.

Also the 17.5 v2 with the inclines really help the front end make sure you move the link on the tower 1 up from the middle and put 2 or 3 mm spacers to help the link straighten out from hub to tower. To get the bump steer correct I put 3mm spacer for ackerman and 2mm out at steering blocks. Get the "b plates" also. It's crazy all the money you have to put into pretty much a new platform to get it to run somewhat smoothly. I run the 2.0 myself. If you have any questions I can definitely help you out. Get the aluminum rear hums and get the carbon b plates for that also. Shock setup, the typical setup= for pistons front just put and extra .9-1mm hole making it 5×1.5 and 1.0. For the rear get the 5×1.5 taper pistons and drill one of the holes to 1.9. I also run HB springs. Hope that helps out!

That same week i ran s&s practice, ran lake park, ran epic, and ran newberry. I was pleased, epics track was huge. Second time ever ive ever ran there, with the other time being last year.

I was watching a building video Jared Tebo.. techno 48.21 . He said to shimm the diffs but also to make sure everything still spins free or a wise the car will over rotate as gearbox stiffen up. He backed out the screws to the two halfs just till the outdrive spun nice.... so maybe check ya shims and make sure no bearing bind. He also said people try to chase a set up when really the problem is the car isn't built properly... hope this helps anyone... and good to see the 1/8th racing again...

Play with rear toe to gain steering back if needed. Good to have ya back Ryan. Heard rumors you may have been gone due to moto injury. If true hope everything healed up.

Seriously enjoy your videos Ryan! Here in South Texas we have mostly 10th size tracks on "sandy clay"... But the most competitive classes are 8th scale??? IDK why.. I have no idea on link locations, but toe, camber, foams, springs, and ride height solve our under-to-snap-oversteer issues every time. ... Adding grip up front and stabilizing the rear might be your solution? Oddly enough, I've found that tuning cars in Forza Horizon 4 and/or 5 is great practice or diagnosing driveability issues and making adjustments. 🤷 Quality practice s always a good thing, being affordable is a big bonus too. 😁

I ran the Arrma TLR Typhon this season. I dropped the standoffs front and rear to the lowest setting, heavy toe out camber up front, stretched the wheelbase as far as I could and played with the pills (Dakotah Phend helped me dial in and I don't know what pills he threw in my car). Not sure how your tracks down in FL compare to the ones up here in MI/IN but Dakotah got my car wicked dialed in for RC Fun Parks track and its translated well to the other tracks in my area. I've run a lot of 1/10 2wd on clay and this setup on my 1/8 e-bug feels very similar.

I went up to Epic the first weekend the track was open after the new layout. I run 1/10 scale 4wd buggy and 4wd short course, took my cars up there to try it out. Those jumps really are huge but they are done very well had no issues at all with takeoffs and landings. Was pretty wild seeing my B74 hovering dead flat like a ufo 15 feet high in the air off the big jump.

Just got into truggy this year running the RC8T4e. I know several guys at the track run a 1900Kv I run a 2000kv. Not a terrible difference between the two but I will say the 1900kv is really smooth compared to the 2250kv and 2200Kv motors. Me personally I run 0 punch on my buggy and truggy just do not like it at all. You ran perfect with a 1900kv and i know for fact there was several others on the track with 2000kv plus motors. Please keep uploading on 1/8th scale (or in general) you have so much knowledge on setups and tuning.
