No problem! This guide is outdated, though, and only most of the things in here still apply... The biggest change is to how blocking works (which I'll be dropping a small guide on in the coming days), so feel free to ask if you have any specific questions about the current game version. (except blocking, you'll have to wait for my video about that!)

something i usually do when i get loic is jump, activate loic and fly away from the other guy to make sure they don't interrupt it

minor tip if you are close range always use your armor this *does* put you into - advantage so keep that in mind

Not always true, being in a disadvantageous state makes it really hard for armor to be better than normal block. Often times it is better to save armor for hard callout options or situations where armor beats more of your opponents action. Also when this video was made armor worked differently, anyone watching this keep that in mind!

Another thing I should have focused on was the deadspot Robot has at medium range. In short, no. Armored Command Grab spends all of your resources on a move that is unlikely to hit any competent opponent. This is because every character can simply jump to avoid every single one of your moves at the start (I briefly mentioned this), including Command Grab. In addition, it loses to almost all other movement options (i.e. dash back) and is beat by a select few attacks (sticky bomb, even though that is a crazy opener), so it isn't even 100% safe. A better lead, if you still want to pressure offensively, would be to armor step or armor vacuum. Both of these moves beat some movement options, but will most likely make you go neutral. This is something I should make another video on; The difference in typical strategies between different skill levels. As it tends to go, you become more cautious and less risk averse the more skilled you are, so that opener only really works against players who are not at all cautious (aka, new players). Anyways, hopefully you can apply this lesson among others presented in this video to improve your Robot gameplay! Have a good day!

just got the game, love playing robot, easily my favourite, thought i played him well as i won my first 3 matches, saw and watched video... You lost me at the loic delays.

Please let me know what you found unclear about that section, it would help me improve my explanations in future videos! To restate what I said in my video; If you use LOIC, then BOUNDS CHECK, COMMAND: GRAB, or TRY-CATCH, it will be guaranteed to hit immediately afterwards. However, the delay (as changed through the LOIC slider) varies for each move. For BOUNDS CHECK, it depends on how close you are to either wall. The other moves (COMMAND: GRAB or TRY-CATCH) are guaranteed to hit if you set the LOIC delay to 69, unless you use the "Back" toggle on TRY-CATCH.

What I want to know is what the car is actually good for, are there any situations where you'd really want to use it over anything else? And how do super jumping and super dashing work, when should I use them over jumping normally or propel?

This guide was for 1.7, when car was really bad at just about everything. For your other question, Superdash and Superjump are pretty much never worth using. Superjump takes two air options and a lot of time to complete, so you end up in a worse position by using it, and Superdash loses to hopping, so it's pretty bad too. In the current version (1.8) car is actually pretty good. You want to spam forward/backwards to inch your way towards your opponent and then threaten with clutch/boost/flip. You'll pretty much want to be in car mode all the time, except for when doing combos.

Picked this character because he seemed iteresting and so far, 8 hours in cowboy mains have become my worst enemy, and so have ninja mains,,,, nd wizrd mains

This guide is outdated, but back when it wasn't step was really good (in part) because of how punishing it was to miss your block. Nowadays step only sets up a 50/50 if your opponent blocks.

How does one 'delay' your supers so they combo?

Once you click LOIC there is a slider that says 'Delay' above it, and that number goes from 0-100. It isn't your supers that are being delayed, it's LOIC (and the now depreciated GALVANIZE). The specific numbers you need to use are shown in the top left during the combo section. In addition, each move needs about 7 or so frames to hit [+ or - 2] (that means you need to click LOIC and look at the frame advantage that pops up right above, if it's 7 and you can hit next turn, you are good to go) To be clear, LOIC is the only super that can be delayed in such a way. Sorry if it was unclear, and hopefully this clears it up!

I will, hopefully soon! My next video hasn't started production yet, but it's likely to be either a Robot or Wizard video next. I want to take the time to make sure I know each of the characters well enough though, which can be hard given how often the game updates... But, well, if you check back in 3-4 months I'll probably have a basic one for each of the non-Ninja characters. Thanks for the comment!

Armor has been through a bunch of tiny nerfs, so there's a lot to talk about. But the biggest change is that it no longer ignore knockback and hitstun for melee moves. Instead, it will automatically block said attack as if you had clicked the block move. This doesn't block guardbreak moves or moves that can't be blocked (aka grabs). I suggested changing the name from 'Armor' to 'Autoguard' as that feels like a more fitting description of it's current function, but eh. Minor things: Armor comes out frame 3 normally and frame 5 from whiff cancel. This means if a moves hits frame 3 (or before) it will not activate. In addition, Armor can no longer be applied to any action. Only moves that have hitboxes can be used with it. This means the best use case before (baiting an attack into movement + armor) is no longer possible. Through my testing, armor seems to be best used on medium-slow moves that beat guard breaks and grabs. (because worst case scenario you go into disadvantage) This means Command Grab against anyone but Ninja. (Ninja has an airborne guard break, which is annoying af) Still, Robot doesn't actually have any of those kinds of moves other than Command Grab, so armor is much less useful than it initially appears. (it gets predictable) TLDR: In the video above I stated that Armor turns any attack loss into a win, which isn't true anymore. Armor now turns MOST attack losses into disadvantage. IMO, Armor should only be used if you are going for crazy risky plays. (like random tclap or something idk) An important thing to note is that this only applies to melee moves, meaning armor works as it always has against projectiles. (also geyser is a melee move)

@@whimsnum Ohhhhh so it's like an option select, if you get hit you block if you don't nothing happens. My main use for it is making sure turn 1 earthquake doesn't lose to horizontal slash, putting me in the optimal range to spin cycle and force the cowboy to move away and perish. I always wondered why it never seemed to work when I need it most, and it having a delay before it comes out definitely makes sense.

Will yomi hustle come on mobile?
