This makes me want to really make one for 1/64 scale. I gave built one for model cars. And am going to add accessories to it soon.

Very cool! I will eventually add more things to this one as well. It definitely makes the cars look cool displaying them on a diorama.

This is cool,. Was thinking that maybe a finer grit for the yard , concept is awesome .

Thanks! I agree with the finer grit. I was planning on adding more detail and making a few changes to this diorama once I finish the one I'm currently working on. I was thinking maybe adding a small amount of sand. The junkyards around where I live use large cinders so that was the look I was going for but in the diorama the cars don't roll very nice over the larger grit.

Definitley needs a finer grit for scale from the gravel of a regular junkyard. What you got is an off road park in there lol.
Amazing work man. If you don’t mind me asking what did you use to make the concrete?
@microlocity
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The concrete is a brand called Henry 549 Feather Finish. I use it in remodeling homes. The reason I used this product in the diorama is because it will bond will to my plywood base, it can be spread very thin, and it won't crack. I purchased it at Home Depot.
very good channel😄 channel registered👍️

Oh man. You're killing me with that bloody box knife. I was covering my eyes 🤣 I really like the finished product. Was that motor oil you used to finish the garage floor?
@microlocity

Thank you! I'm happy with the way it turned out. I understand your concern with the knife lol. I repair homes for a living so I use a box knife daily. I guess it's comparable to watching an experienced chef chop vegetables 😂. The oil is actually gear oil to give the look of a stained concrete floor.

I dig it. I make signs, so Xacto knifes and such are second nature. Thanks for telling me about the gear oil. It was a nice touch, made me laugh. Its perfect 🤣
How did u make your signs great diorama I'm gonna have to redo my autoshop diorama with this kind of detail
@microlocity

I made the signs on the computer. It was a photo shop type program. The signs are printed on regular paper and I glued them on with Modge Podge.
Nice diorama! What did you use for the fence posts and fence?
@microlocity
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The fence posts are made out of steel wire that I use to hang ceiling grid (ceilings typically found in office buildings). I cut the wire to length then rounded the ends on a bench grinder. The fencing is an old window screen.
Very nice work. What do you use to measure boards, buildings, etc for 1:64 scale.

Thank you! I just used a Hot Wheels pick up truck to gauge my scale. I figured the truck bed was about 6'. I made some marks on a piece of wood and kinda made my own ruler. You can also purchase a scale ruler.

@@microlocity OK thanks for the info. Great idea using the truck for measuring.
What did you use for the weeds/grass?
@microlocity
3 жыл бұрын
I got the long grass from a hobby shop. It is Woodland Scenics FG173 field grass.
what size wire is that
8:35 is that real asphalt / concrete
@microlocity

Yes, it is a cement based product. It is called Henry Feather Finish and I use it remodeling homes. It can be spread thin without cracking and adheres well to other objects. You can find it or something similar in big box home improvement stores in the flooring department.
Where did you buy the materials??

I made everything from items that I just had laying around my garage. I made another video that explains in detail on what I used for everything.

Yes, I would say that already having the know how to do it on a large scale makes it a little easier.
So I
