Hey, about the Minecraft heads all around the cruise ship. There’s a common practice in Minecraft building to add textures to all these heads that make them into different things. Such as a loaf of bread in the kitchen. If you don’t have the textures installed, it won’t work, so that’s why you see them as just player heads instead of whatever they are meant to be. Another example would be on the basketball court. Those were probably textured to be basketballs if you had the textures installed.

The actual way those usually work is they use playernames attached to the nbt of the item. They can be lost through people breaking the heads and placing them down again. If you were to texture the head itself with a resource pack you'd be stuck with the one texture. That is unless something new happened in the last few years.

Missed you, R! Glad to see you back and well.

The ship is a scale replica of the "Mariner of the Seas" originally made by MrOceanTravel (check him out, he does all kinds of cool ships). I was testing out procedural fill commands and wanted to stress test on something large and intricate. the reason there are heads and blank signs everywhere (and the basement is flooded) is because the scripting i used cant support the NBT to change what they look like. Next time you are over there, go to the front of the ship, there is a lectern with a credits book in it.

But in the city i lived in for 12 years, there is a small museum, which consists of the works of a man who passend away years ago, who built parts of the city as model train landscapes. i think i can try to explain all the heads in that cruise ship: in minecraft, theres a certain command you can do to make a player head, and there are some accounts dedicated to just having a head that looks like an object. im not sure exactly why, but it seems like the heads aren't loading properly here, so that head on the basketball court is supposed to look like a basketball, but it isn't working and just looks like a head. my best guess for the other heads inside the ship is some are supposed to look like lights and maybe some are supposed to look like computer monitors?
