When this kit came out ,it was a BIG seller. It actually had an AKM ,an M-16A1 and a RPG-7, not mention 2 M-60 machine guns. These were all extremely hard to find in1/35 scale then and this was long before the internet and 3---d printing .

Hey Chris! I bet that was a bargain back then!! Thankfully with the 3D printing and newer kits with nicer molds, we can enjoy nicer models :) I did a Takom M114 not too long ago for an HIDF build (on my channel) which I used some resin accessories! Happy modeling!!

@@Greggs.Dioramas.Scalemodels Well, it was 1987 or so and the price was about 38.00 bucks Canadian. And it was 37 years ago. I still see this kit in stores going for the same price ( give or take a few bucks) ,but that 38.00 went a lot farther then. We can also get weapon sets today we could only hope for back then .

@@Chris-dz3rs At my local store, they are selling this kit for $50!! It's a bit ludicrous in my opinion, but I can see why people still enjoy it! I'd like to eventually get the modern Japanese version of the HUMVEE (I forgot what it's called) but it's $60 here and I can't justify spending that yet 😂

@@Greggs.Dioramas.Scalemodels OH yeah ,you gotta be fussy these days .l go to model shows and there you can get some nice bargains . My local brick and mortar stores get my paint ,brushes and tool budgets ,with my wife and kids shop there to get me kits as gifts for various occasions ( What was he drooling over last time ?). The Tamiya ACAV was great for its day ,but the Academy one is just a little pricier ,but comes with more stuff ( M-79 ,M-177 carbines ,M-16A1 , and a M-40 recoiless rifle). The M-40 looks great on a BTR-152 .

@@Chris-dz3rs I normally get my kits from shows too! It's way cheaper 😂 Sometimes it's nice to browse the selection at the local store though :)
