Part of the problem is, in figures there is no true standard. Some manufacturers use the measurement from eye level two bottom of the foot other companies use top of the head to the bottom of the foot to determine their scale. As long as you use weapons and pouches of only one manufacturer all you get is the standard variation in human sizes. That helps to give a sense of accuracy that is missing when all of your troops are the same height.

If I'm doing the math correctly, an average height should be about 4.94 cm. Whichever figures are close to that height are probably the closest to being 1/35 scale. Anyone over 5.3 cm (which represents a 6'-1" guy) would be too tall to be a tanker. Anyone under 4.35 cm ( 5 ' tall) would be too short for the army. Hope I didn't get too nerdy with the math. Thanks for the video.😊

Realistically, it all depends on what you are looking for. As for price, you have to shop around, I’ve seen price differences on the same box of figures up to 15$. The best bang for your buck, is if you can order enough to get free shipping. When it comes to quality, the newer the kit is, the better the quality. For example, I’ve heard lots of people complain about the price of newer, or remakes of the old Tamiya kits, however when you see that the figure molds are fresh, more detailed, and the armored kits have way more detail, there’s not really much to complain about. No for WW1 kits, prefer ICM kits, WW2 armor, vehicles, and planes of any size, I prefer Tamiya, because the molds line up perfect when they are glued. Also AIRFIX have awesome planes, that you don’t have to worry about filling, sanding, and the whole mess of trying to make thing look right. I’ve bought all kinds of figure kits over the years, but it all depends on when the molds are made. When all the faces look the same, it kinda takes away from the overall picture. Masterbox figures are outstanding. Vietnam era figures, I’ve always went straight for resin figures. If your looking for model cars, I’ve found that AMT, and Revell have a lot to offer. Salvinos jr does awesome NASCAR kits. Now lindberg kits are older molds, so if you buy a rereleased kit, you know going into it, you have some extra work to do. But it really all depends on what you enjoy, and how you can make it work.
