Some fantastic tips and techniques there. Liked the way you made the small stones and rocks! Not sure why Tamiya never called their paint ‘round earth’…..maybe they know something we dont? Just sayin’. 😉 Awesome vid!

Many great tips in this super video 👍 I also use the Dax clay. I find best to spread out the pva glue otherwise it oozes out as you press the clay down. Also if the clay is quite thick and the foam base quite thin it will bend the base as the clay dries - use clay thin or a thicker base. I'm glad you got rid of the picture frame. I too only use EP Foam base and then border with 1mm styrene sheet cut to match the base profile. A good way to cut the base foam is to use a cheap retractable packaging knife. Extend the blade 2 or 3 inches and its flexible enough to cut curved profiles. Great tip for wood grain - very effective. 👍

Thanks Bob ! Yeah I am too, it just seemed superfluous and detracted from the composition. The clay was only a few mm max on this one I can't afford to wait 3 days for it to completely dry out too ! Good tip on the knife thanks 😀

Excelllent work James, but i have 2 constructive things to tell you . I primarly build armour models, and i absolutley love to make dioramas for them. The first thing are the sides, you can use balsa wood instead of clay, beacose it gives to the scene a cleane look, and thus, its easier for the person that is looking to the scene see the small details , such the bootles, and the second one is the grass, the tufts look really nice, but a little bit uniform, and to similar, and airbrushing more happy green colors on top of it, it makes the scene more voluminose. But i need to say that the composition is brilliant, and very well executed, and I really lovit how the marder , looks on the scene beacouse it looks right in home!! Ecxellent joooooob mate , i hope that this two tips can help you with your next diorama!! Sorry for the large coment !! 😂 Thanks a lot !!

Thanks mate ! Always up for critique or comments, The edging was tricky. In the past I have cut plywood to size and then filled it in but I was getting burnt out towards the end. If I do another soon I'll be making sure to do the surround first and get the annoying part out of the way ! And great idea with the grass, more colour is always good Thanks mate !
