I think doing your questions has worked. I automatically got the answer in my head without thinking about which method to use. My 73 year old brain is getting faster. Thanks.
First multiply both sides by 3, so the square root of 2x is 6. Then square both sides, so 2x is 36. Divide both sides by 2: x=18

@@juliecranford534 Thank you for catching that and for letting me know. I’ve edited it now.
18 is what I got off the top of my head
1/3(square root of 2x)=2 Multiply both sides by 3 Square root of 2x =6 Square both sides 2x=36 X=18

That's how I solved for x. But failed to verify answer.
I love your examples! This is a terrific one! Thanks❤
super simple multiply both sides by 3 this leaves us with a 6 on the right hand side and a sqroot on the left. so square both sides then divide by 2 (the coefficient of the x term in this problem). This leaves us with x = 18. Now, since we squared a root we have to prove the answer. 2 * 18 is 36. The Sqroot of 36 is 6. Now we multiply 1/3 by 6, which is the same as saying 6/3. Which is 2 and proves that x = 18.
Multiply both sides by 3 and one is left with(2x)^1/2 = 6. then, one squares both sides and one is left with 2x = 6^2, where x = 18
Reviewing what I learned the first time (3 months ago) in this video I can say that I am now part of the 10% who can figure that out with the correct procedure. Thanks!
😃🤗 So much fun! Refreshing.
Had the answer in about 15 seconds, but started doubting myself because it seemed too simple.

Only a grade grade 7 zombie would get that wrong
To be true that 1/3 is equal to 2 the only prerequisite is that whatever is under the square root sign has to be 36. So x must be 18. Then the resulting square root is 6 and 1/3 of 6 = 2.
multiply both sides by 3, square both sides*, now you have 2x=36 so x=18. (* because if a=b then a^2 = b^2)
Greetings. The value for × is 18. From the expression given it should be realized that what we have is simply the square root of 2x divided by 3 equals 2. That should result in the square root of 2x = 6 after multiplying by 3, thereafter you square both sides to get 2x = 36 and after that, you divide both sides by 2 to get x=18.

sq rt 2x = 6 sq rt 36=6 36/2 =x x =18 best i can figure
I just asked myself a few questions to get to the right answer. What number is two a third of? Six. Six is the square root of what number? 36. Two times what number equals 36? 18.
We know something divided by 3 is 2. That would be 6. The square root of something is 6. That would be 6 squared or 36. What times 2 is 36? 18 There. I showed my work. :^)
It sounds complicated... Get rid of 1/3 first with *3 1/3 *3√2x = 2*3 >>> √2x = 6 Now process square root 2x = 6² >>> 36 Divide by 2 x = 36/2 >>> 18 x = 18
So I remember you have to check both the positive and negative numbers for the correct answer!!! So I hear what he is saying and disagree on the throwing out the negative all the time because sometimes they both work.
I got the answer after the first step, checked my solution which was right but I was not sure about the method for getting rid of the square root. So you were right. I did not get the whole thing. ;) Still need to practice.
Have it I less then a minute. My head is still working at 70yrs old.
Sometimes both positive and negative results work so check both numbers!!!
16, i meant 18. honest. figured that must find the square root. 2 is third of 6, so the square root must be 6. 6x6 is 36, half that is 18. so x=18
Okay lets start at the beginning
×=18
You see it directly
2x=36 or x=18
√2x=6 2x=36 x=18
What a silly claim that many will not know where to start!
18
X=18
I came up with x = 18.
18=x
x = 18
Dang, I should have paid more attention in high school 😞
I got x=18
