comb coils work depending on how u look after ur hair etc. my hair coils up on its own so when i grow my hair long enough i’ll get comb coils for starter locs

I also did a random parting I didn’t really care for the brick or diamond parting now on month 5 n I love my hair

@@finallygoated2361 I recommend retwists between 4-6 months. To prevent loss of hair.( If retwisted too soon) The only change will nappiness at this point. Locking begins at 3-4 months.

I just started mines on September 13,2022. Had got My retwist on October 7,2022 But I will be keeping up with it on video to see the grow of it.

Ayyyy congrats on starting your journey! How did it go?? Plus it’s okay to have those reservations about your loc journey, you’ll be literally taking it 1 month at a time and witness alot of changes all at once. The main thing to remember throughout the journey, is to have patience and have a open mind to your new self-image as it develops, plus the perception others will have of you too.

Hello, and I hope all is well. I have locs it's been 3 months, and every time I take off my locks off, my head is sticking all up. It lays down nice after I clip it and unclip it. During wash and tetwist retwist, I want to take the head wrap off it sticks up. Is there any way to keep them lying down, or that's the way it's supposed to be lying down, or that's the way it's supposed to be ?

I would only do it in the initial starter loc process because once the hair is locked in you should just let it do it’s thing. I’ve done it twice so far but won’t be doing it anymore because I don’t wanna tamper with my locs anymore.

If you get stater locs when do you have to wash them and re-twist them?

Retwisting can be really stressful on the scalp so most people get them done each month or 2months during the initial stages. Once your hair matures you could probably stretch it to every 3 months. When it comes to washing your hair at the beginning of your journey, give it a week or two before washing your starter locs.

Good question, you don’t actually need oils (your scalp will naturally produces it), an alternative is using fresh aloe vera or gel form which ever you can get your hands on.

I’d say it was about 6/7 inches blow dried out. And I waited 2months for my first Retwist. My second Retwist I only waited 1 month but now I’m back to waiting another 2 months for my third Retwist.

@@jonteis7 ohh well I wasn’t growing my hair out for locs. The high top fade was my go to haircut for like 3 years I would trim the hair at the top frequently to keep the box look. So if you think you have enough hair so far, just start it because shrinkage and the locking method will always make your original hair look short.

I have to wash my hair soon. I only have 1 big patch of build up.
