    Thanks Bob!! That's something I forgot to factor in. My heaviest loads won't be quite as heavy - but definitely more precious. My 5yr old Grandbabies!

    Kinda funny you put this video out because I was looking into the same thing for my dump bed. A dump bed with material overloads your truck pretty quick too. Great video as always.

    FYI...I thought you might appreciate trucker terminology to describe certain parts. The "flex" in the truck suspension is referred to as "articulation". The "tongue" of the lowboy trailer is called a "goose neck". If the goose neck is detachable from the deck, it is called a RGN (removable goose neck). Appreciate your very informative and helpful videos.

    Great idea... I have the heavy duty suspension kit from Rc4wd and rc4wd roady tires and I have no problem hauling around my bulldozer from rc4wd and plus I have 4:1 reduction bolted on the 3 speed trans. Nice video.

    The 4-1 Gear Reduction Unit made MORE of a difference in my Grand Hauler than anything else!! I use a 35 Turn Crawler Motor that actually HAS Torque (unlike the 80t which has MUCH less Torque - it's just slower!!)😖 It crawls at a Snail's pace in 1st gear.

    Great vidoe 3 things 1. the rc4wd lowboy is to low at the nose out of the box. the gooseneck should have been made so the deck is up about another 1/2". people have made delrin plates bolted to the neck that lower the king pin hight and raises the deck up. 2. flip the 5th wheel mounting plate around to put the 5th wheel ahead of center of tandems. this will put more weight on the steer axle and it will steer better. 3. cut the tractor rear axle stops off and you gain about an 1/8" more travel. you need to upgrade the driveshafts for the extra travel. regardless pulling that weight the stock u joints/ driveshafts will quickly wear out.

    Been wanting to demonstrate the power of these trucks to my neighbors by pulling myself with my Knight Hauler, but due to limited $$ I can't really afford those upgrade parts you show, so I have to diy most of it. Luckily alot of the parts are relatively simple design making them quite easy to make at home using just basic hand tools in most cases. Other than the 3rd lift pusher axle & more powerful motor i installed, I also strengthen the dampers & Leaf-springs, plus I'm using a jeep-dollie to distribute the weight of both the counter weight (for traction help) & tongue of wagon I'll be setting on. Should work (HOPEFULLY) LOL.. Great video though!

    I have the same trailer and had the same towing clearance problem even with modified suspension. There’s a great 3D printable spacer that fits on the RC4WD trailer hitch, problem solved ! Part is on thingiverse. Cheers, Steve.

    Always love your videos and what your doing for the hobby. The tires your using where did you get them from? I see there are 20mm, 22mm and 25mm tires. What size are you using ? Also where did you get those foam inserts ?

  • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks

    One note, Bob.... You've definitely beefed-up (eliminated) the Springs, which will certainly handle the weight and then some. BUT, the very weak link is that long, soft, Phillips Head Screw holding the Tandem assembly to the Chassis! I would seriously consider a 3mm Threaded Rod, of Titanium or Stainless Steel.

  • @bamabiker750

    @bamabiker750

    I noticed that as well. Ti or SST would probably handle the increased loads okay but would it be even better to step up to a 4mm bolt? Might need to pass a drill through the parts but it looks like there's enough material to accommodate a slightly larger bolt. Anyway, it's just a thought.

  • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks

    @@bamabiker750 Going to 4mm would be even better. Even a less expensive Steel 4mm Bolt would be considerably stronger.

  • @thatsmyrc

    I've got the trailer and excavator. the simple solving solutions too all the problems by getting a beefier rig like the overland. dollar for dollar its better cents.. Ive also added different wheels and rock tread tires to the trailer. you will gain better clearance by far and have better stance on trailer, the overland can pull so much more weight as even it has metal axles beefier suspension 6x6. I was just pulling my 95lbs daughter around house on lowboy tonight. What I would like you see you create is a quick release gooseneck that can lift the dead weight of the 360L or the dxr2 8-)
