Build your own complete 3D structural analysis software in Python using the Direct Stiffness Method.
Full course details at:

After completing this course…
✅ You’ll understand how to expand the direct stiffness method to full 12 degree of freedom beam elements in 3D space.
✅ You’ll have developed a complete 3D finite element analysis solver to simulate structures consisting of beam and axially loaded bar elements.
✅ You’ll have the skills to efficiently build detailed structural models in Blender and export these for analysis in your own Python solver.
After completing this course you’ll have built your own 3D finite element solver and have a workflow you can use to model and analyse complex 3D structures that would otherwise require expensive commercial software packages.
In this course we’ll be using the direct stiffness method, a numerical solution technique that’s both elegant and scaleable. Most university courses that cover the direct stiffness method stop with the analysis of relatively simple 2d structures. While expansion to 3D from here is relatively straightforward, most people never take this step which is a huge shame because this is when the power and scalability of this analysis technique really comes into its own. In this course we’ll go beyond analysis of 3D space-frame structures and tackle 3D beam bending. This will massively extend the scope of structures that you can model.
In this course we’ll be using Python as a means of scaling the direct stiffness method. Like other DegreeTutors courses that use Python, you don’t need to be proficient in Python programming to take the course. You’re going to pick up what you need as we go.
So, if this sounds like something you’d enjoy working through, enroll now, and I’ll see you inside the course.

@@DrSeanCarroll I will be waiting for it, and I happy that you are working on it , I realy appricate the work that you put in these courses , hope you finish it soon ,another thing I would like to see is how to we could drive these analytical models from grasshopper and Rhino so we could use all the structural optimization tools like galapagos , etc.
