IN this video I'm answering questions that have been left in the comments of the earlier videos.
The last five minutes is just me filling some seams, as some people have been asking what they look like.

Just finished this kit but used led tape and my own lighting solution. This was my first build and you made it that much easier. This has also confirmed my love for this hobby after finally building a kit. Seriously, thank you for all the videos. I would have never attempted something like this without all of your input. 🖖

I'm currently building this model and using the light kit, your series of videos on this build have helped me tremendously. FYI for anyone considering it as well, Dupli-Color makes a milk glass spray that does a fantastic job at fogging the glass and diffusing the light with no extra mixing and it works on the colored plastic as well. Just spray it on the surface that will be on the inside of the model and you still have the glossy look on the outside.

Just wanted to say thank you for the in depth review of the entire kit. I was looking for exactly this to reassure me on wether or not the kit is worth getting. I know some will argue that the lighting kit is overpriced versus the cost of doing it yourself and that may very well be true. However for the average person who has little knowledge of electronics and lacks the knowledge to pull off everything that the lighting kit does it seems like great value to me. I'll be picking up the kit, the lighting kit and the Aztec decals in the next few weeks. Looking forward to putting it all together!

Great video as I am about to get this kit myself and getting your insights was really helpful. My thanks for a good informative kit and well done talking me into the extra money for the LED kit too.

Great Videos....With my X-Acto knife, I opened up the Spot Light Slots on the Warp Nacelles for the registry and I thinking of adding a Micro LED to make them brighter and also a few other spots.

This is gorgeous. 😎 I agree, with what you get with the lighting kit (especially the motors) $80 is a pretty good price. A question. Do you have a 1/650 Classic Enterprise to show side-by-side? Again, marvelous build and clean up instructional. 😎👍 Thank you.

Heya! I’ve done quite a bit of research into this aspect of this Kit and the Lighting System? The Primary thing that has dissuaded me from buying the Lighting System is Principally what is in it? For Little or Nothing it is Way, Way too Expensive? There are a few male and female plug ins, coloured, Styrene for the Nacelles and the Impulse Deck and the Docking Bay. All of these features one could colour oneself! Also the thought of Lighting the Kit and Having two Motors Whirr Away in the Background is a Poor and Inelegant Solution For Our Time!? It is Far, far Better to Buy Two Circular LED Boards to Wire Up and Install? Each of Which you Can Dial Up or Down to Suit the Modellers Requirements? Each of which come with an Installation Instruction Sheet. I have One these in Order so I’m Hoping to Join the Gang and Make Presentation! Great Progress So Far! Best

I've found the motors in my kit are just about silent. The greatest omission is the lack of flashing circuit for the saucer green/red nav lights and white lights above the shuttlebay and front of the saucer. Shouldn't be a problem to do a simple 555 timer circuit though.

If that whole raised area with glass is the bridge then the ship is WAY too small. On the TOS Enterprise that would encompass the bridge and two other decks. Imagine the scale of one person if that is only one deck. The showrunners screwed up here.

Nice job. I plan to also build one of these very soon. Is there a reason you could not use that same "Tamiya flat base" method you describe to also diffuse the impulse engine and blue chiller grills on the inboard warp engine surfaces? Wouldn't it greatly reduce the LED "hot spots" you can see when you change viewing angles? Looking for advice before I start my build. Thanks

Really nice buildup. Altho one thing I noticed in screenshots is that the light doesn't fill up the entire front part of the bridge area, but only a small inset portion.

This really sent me down a rabbit hole. You're right. Best I can tell is that the front part of the bridge can open and close, most of the time, there is only one small square lit at the front of "the windshield" There are several pieces of art work out there that led me down the wrong path thinking the whole part lights up. I looked at many screen shots, and in season 2 it's closed most of the time.

@@allscaletrek Actually we just discussed this in the FB Modelers Group. Looks like the inset light was only for it's first appearance. In Season 2 it was always either fully lit or not at all. So yours is still accurate. Although I still prefer the smaller light and will probably do it that way on mine.

Personally, I'm going to go with this interpretation. Will knock something up in CAD and print it out for this area - www.trekbbs.com/threads/uss-enterprise-eventually-on-discovery.288986/page-468

Really nice set of videos. I like how you present everything l. I like the Discovery Enterprise (designed by John Eaves - if I’m correct). I also like the 2009 movie Enterprise (designed by Ryan Church). However when you put the two models next to each other for a size comparison I think you made a mistake; Revell Germany stated that their Into Darkness Enterprise was 1/500 scale not 1/1000. That model is closer to the original refit Enterprise model which was 1/537 scale.

Are the LEDs prewired with resisters, or are they on the board? Do you think it would be difficult to add additional LEDs to the light kit?
