I wouldn't call it a fail on the lower ball joint, You just learned something different and so did everyone else watching.

I have a 2011 ram big horn.I've upgraded the cam shaft, the lifters.Oil pump.Now I gotta drop the tranny and replace the rear main seal.Then do my upper control alarm and replace my lower control arms.

Kinda sucks you have to buy the whole arm just to do a lower ball joint. That'll be something I consider when I have to do mine. However mine is still in good condition. Hope you get it done.

Hi, love your vids, your info and advice is spot on, been doing all the same stuff on my 03 5.7. FYI I have seen many vids on here about that lower ball joint, all of them show using a file to file down the top 4 crimp points and the ball joint will press out of there- then put in the new one with the snap ring supplied. Its a big PITA to replace the whole lower control arm, especially because mine has the torsion bar set up- not sure if the 09 does- didn't see it. Happy wrenching and keep up the great content. PS- liking the new grill- how's that working out for you?

@@autoguydiy4244 need that myself- definitely not cheap - did you have any speech problems at first? I'm a singer and having my speech affected would suck for vocals! LOL Are you getting the lower control arm? looking forward to the vid- the upper was trashed though!
