After coitus, sperms are transported to the junction of ishthmus , and ampulla where sperm fertilises the ovum leading to the formation of diploid zygote. The zygote undergoes repeated mitotic division to form a Blastocyst, which is implanted in the uterus, resulting in pregnancy.
