I was gutted when we sold Latchford to Everton . He was brilliant at Birmingham City. His brother Dave was the Blues goalkeeper and his other brother Peter was the goalkeeper for West Bromwich Albion, a true football family!

Yeah Bob had a great scoring record for Birmingham, especially his 27 goals in the 71/72 promotion season. Apparently he could’ve joined Liverpool, Blues captain Roger Hynd was Bill Shankly’s nephew & went round to Latchfords house when he heard about Everton’s bid & mentioned Liverpool were interested once they knew Birmingham would accept £350,000 (a then British transfer record). But it was too late as he’d already signed for the Toffees. It was the first of many heartaches for me being a young Blues fan…KRO

Didn't Dave Latchford become Celtic keeper for a while?

Dalglish had only been playing for Liverpool for a little over a month at this point, and he was already scoring goals like the one at 25:09!

Everton re-uniting Dobson and Thomas, who used to both play for Burnley. Peter Eastoe moved to Everton from QPR and Dave Thomas did really well for my team,Portsmouth. Everton's goalie George Wood I think went to Arsenal.
