Here’s the way I ran my electric fuel pump. Didn’t see to many videos about different set ups. This set up cost roughly $30 and works perfect.

Thanks for the video. Saved my dads lightly used woods cruiser. Inherited his 07 660. Thing would not start. New batteries, plug which has good spark, and found out the OEM pump was shot. Installed the Mr. Gasket just like your install except I hooked wiring to ignition switch. Turned the key with some choke and it fired right up like a good running Yamaha usually does. Changed the oil, my God was it dirty, and filter once she warmed up. Bought a K&N air filter as the factory foam was plugged and the air box was partially filled with dirt. Luckily the intake was still clean. The filter did its job. The old girl while my dad ran her would maybe do 40 on a good day. I think that pump has been bad for forever and a day as she always sounded like she was laboring. Now with the Mr. Gasket she sounds strong and I hit 47 on a straight stretch. Now to reroute the intake to a less dusty location than the top of that little box. Dad has had dementia like symptoms from a severe hit to the head for a long time and the more stuff I check of his the more I find signs he did not know what he was doing.

It seems like if I don’t start it for a month or two, it is hard to start…….vapor lock or not getting gas. Is that because of the Vacuum pump? Any advice please.

I still have to use the choke, with your set up do you choke? The reason I did the low flow is due to the vapor lock in the oem pump when It gets hot outside. I started the engine in the winter without enrichment, so the engine did not start right away. Where to look for the cause of gasoline getting into the engine? .. Can the carburetor become clogged and be the cause of this? Thank you.

As long as you have the return line going back into the tank your carb won’t overflow so you can leave it on continuous. That’s why I like the mr. gasket 42s micro pump cause it’s a low psi so as soon as the bowl in the carb is full all the extra fuel just circulates back into the tank through the return line. I’ll try to do a video at some point of me riding it to add to this current video to show the performance of running the fuel this way.
