In this lesson, you will learn how to construct a table of values in order to plot the parabola in algebra. This function is also called a quadratic function and is a core topic learned in all algebra classes.
Once we discuss the basic shape of a parabola, we will discuss its vertex and the axis of symmetry. These items describe core features of quadratic functions and must be learned by every algebra student.

I have only used parabolas for one thing, to make reflective dishes or parabolic troughs. I only used y=x2 to calculate them. You need to explain focal points other wise why bother, it’s too abstract for people unless they actually do something other than abstract math functions.
