nice clear explanation as to what is going on. Too many times its just replace it with no reasons. GM does some wierd things with their electrical systems. I work on industrial engines and equipment and its all designed to be fail safe. ie: fail in the off position.

I would jumper the fuse with a switch inside the cab. Im just lazy

Saw on a different video,if you leave that big green square guse out,the fan turns off,and you can still use speeds 1-4...but speed 5 wont work...just a wuick fix if its hot out and you want AC....im here in texas and it got hella hot today haha...i can deal with speeds 1-4 for now

I replaced mine, with this kit and it took a shit less than a year later…

I replace the heater resistor and the blue again so you think is the AC unit

Hi brother so my fan stays on after I turn my ac head unit on but not if I keep the ac off at all times. The fan won’t turn on randomly by itself only after the ac has been turned on it takes a while to turn off. Any idea if I have the same problem? also when I do try to turn the ac on it takes a long time for the fan blower to start.

I wonder why the new one wasnt plug n play.

I was trying to find something cheap that worked, sometimes to get a plug and play runs about double the price or more. I think back then it ran me $25 or $30 and the plug n play was going to be around or above $75.

My rear ac blower wont shut off could this be whats wrong in the back unit?

What if the connector that goes to the blower motor keeps burning out? What is my issue there?

If I don't fix the problem will it make the truck run hot

No it won’t, it’ll drain the battery on your vehicle. Unless you’re having other issues.

question if I may... when I replaced my resistor my blower motor started knocking! I put the old resistor back in( kept new wires attached) and it stopped knocking. any ideas? thank you for the video !

I’m assuming there might have been an issue with the new part/ resister that was installed, not a bad install but more of a bad part. I’ve had my fair share of brand new parts that don’t work or cause more issues. There’s Another possibility, also goes against the part, it might be making contact with the Squirrel Cage / The fan blades. I’m hoping this helps, and sorry it took so long for me to get back.

My blower and heater randomly start up I will be in a store and then come outside and it's on

yeah me too the new resister assembly I installed did not fix the constant On condition. I am stumped. even after I pulled out the entire climate control switch controller assembly with all connectors disconnected, the blower still runs! I'm about to just run the blower with a simple On-Off Switch and ditch the controller.

Blower motor resistor.

I did this and it still didnt work, brand new resistor 1 speed (high) and wont turn off

He said there could be two causes. The other being that the headunit is bad.
