Can't go wrong with a Mora. Nice video mate. Very nice spoon too. Then again your Welsh so you should be good at spoon carving. I was expecting to see hearts and horseshoes all it😂.

I bought a 510 a bit after making my above comments. I've used it to make a 'Kochanski' Try-Stick, and began to carve a small spoon. It has become a favorite. Very nice knife to carve with. Thank you for posting this video, it is very entertaining, and educational.

Really enjoyed the video. I own several Mora knives including a 510 and like them all. However, the 510 has seen little or no use. It just did not seem to stack up against models such as the Companion and looked a bit too much like a kitchen knife. This video has proved me wrong and I will definitely start using the 510 from now on. Many thanks!

Good info and review there Scott. Thanks. I always find that budget knives are great tools once you've straightened the spine and put a decent edge on the blade. Loved the spoon and lavvu.

I've spent an awful lot of money on knives over the years. I still love using my custom, handmade knives from very reputable makers. But 9 times out of 10 I carry a mora. They really have turned their designs around in the last 10 years.

@@welshwoodsman I like my custom knives too. I have a few by various makers, but the Mora's just work and I never have to worry about losing or breaking them when doing bushcraft stuff. Custom knives always feel better in the hand and are a pleasure to use. I'll never admit to how much I've spent on knives or how many I own, but there is always room for one more🤣

The Morakniv is sharp enough to chop that vice's corner off! Done.

Nothing wrong with Mora knives. I used one in the army, had it for years. Just strop between jobs and they keep their edges. All of my Mora knives have a longer clip point now. Wrapping bright para cord around the sheath is also a good idea. I use the stainless version for food prep, and had that for years. Nice vid mate!

Thanks Neil. I used the lavvu two weeks ago at a campout. It handled the storm weather no problem. Dry inside. 👍

Your 'Mora Companion' appears to be a Mora Clipper instead. Not that it makes much of a difference...

Why does everyone put a 90 degree edge on the spine.. as someone who uses moras for mostly carving and wood working, being able to push cut without chewing my thumb up or having to wear gloves... I see the rounded spine on my moras to be an advantage... if I need to throw sparks, I’ll use the back of my silky saw, or a myriad of other things... being able to push cut is way better than throwing sparks
