Great video. One tip, that bolt should be a high tensile black hexagon bolt and stainless steel nylock nut. Also replacing the output shafts cup seals would be a good idea as they are cheap and easy to swap and would be pain if they leaked after a while back in the car.

Love the vid, Boys. FYI....Edd China on Wheeler Dealers did a similar repair on a Audi TT box about 5 years ago and made a simple tool to press out the broken rivet.

New sub here, just about to strip seat Leon 1.8 20v gearbox , this vid is a great help . 🤜

If you open the fill plug first then open the drain you don't get the "glug". Helps cut down the mess. Great vid though. Thanks.

I’m more familiar with the familar with the 02t gearbox but have done one of these I believe in a golf gti great vid I know ther familar with the seal on top of 5th and 6th coming off

I'm also in s Wales. I'm only able to get 3rd and 4th. In 2.0 tfsi audi tt. Maybe a selector problem. Not sure. But do you guys want the work if its the box

Hi lads great video I’ve just fitted a touran 1.9 tdi 6 speed box in my caddy and the left and right on gear stick is tight and doesn’t go back to center like the 5 speed did do you know how I could fix the problem please tried wd on the selector on the gearbox as it doesn’t spring back up when you push it down

Check shifter cable ends and put both transmission and gear select in adjustment position and then snap back on the cable ends

Hi guys, great video here 👏. I have kind of similar issue with my touran 2012 6+1 gearbox, but instead of 1+2 speed issue, mine does not run in 3rd gear, all others gears work just fine. Do you rekon it might be the same issue you present in this video? Thank you🙌

I'm having to repair this exact problem on my wife's car. Gearbox looks to be the same and the video is super helpful although I can not get the selector cassette out as mine does not have a retainer bolt on the side. Any advise or help would be greatly recieved.

A simple flat head screwdriver. Being careful not to damage it.

Do you need sealant when putting the cases back together??

You should of done the VW polo 6n2 gti gearbox. Its none as the chocolate gearbox.

Where are you guys based? Can you fix mine ? I have the same issue

I’ve got a issue with my ring gear & output shaft mating gears. The ones that are permanently attached to the output shafts. Both have missing teeth & the ring gear has damage aswell. Do you know if you can replace the output shafts? any help would be really appreciated
