    @@BuckeyeBallistics I just got the rims today, I'm gonna hit the tire shop first thing in the morning, I already talked to them and got a quote for those as05s. One thing I did is I got a k&n cabin air filter. Was like $18 on Walmart's website. It really helped with the amount of airflow I am getting from the vents. I live where it sits around 100 for most of summer, so that boost in the amount of airflow helps alot. Only took a a few seconds to swap the old paper one out

    Guns&Cars usually when people do mods they talk about other engine parts that have to be in good condition before the mod is put in

  • @BuckeyeBallistics

    @BuckeyeBallistics

    3 жыл бұрын

    Not exactly sure what they've been saying in the other videos you've been watching, or what mods those videos were of. But generally speaking, what some will often say is you should have the car running right before modifying, which is true- because what is the point of doing intake or exhaust work trying to gain 5hp, when you are down 5hp due to crappy plugs or something like that. Aside from that, if you add a turbo or nitrous or something like that to a car, you would generally want to do it to a low mileage engine so the pistons and rings and bearings can handle it, or else build the engine to handle it. Something like an exhaust system or a cold air intake doesn't require preperation like that, though it is wise to have the car tuned up before seeking more power with *any* mod. I hope this answers your question...

  • @BuckeyeBallistics

    @BuckeyeBallistics

    150k ish. The trans acts funny until it warms up for some reason, slipping a little and jerking a little. But once warmed up, flawless. I need to change the fluid and filter. It's my beater car so I haven't been too worried about getting to it yet. The engine is what you need to be worried about with these with that pre-cat in the manifold breaking up amd getting sucked into the engine, which is why I immediately put a header on mine.

    @@BuckeyeBallistics I have that same jerkiness on my 06 2.5sl on a cold start. When it warms up though it's a jet. My boy is a mechanic and he said it might be my engine mounts. I'm at 113,xxx miles.

  • @BuckeyeBallistics

    @BuckeyeBallistics

    3 жыл бұрын

    The engine and transmission mounts are rubber. When the mounts wear out, they allow the engine and trans to move around more than they should, which can cause some clunking sounds occasionally. However, being rubber, they will be firmer (allowing less movement) when cold. As they warm up with the heat of the engine and transmission, they will become softer and allow more movement. So if it were the mounts, it would get worse as it warms up, not improve.

    Guns&Cars I’m doing that on my bmw m6 v10. But for the 760li is more complicated since the air boxes have electric motors that open a flap at a certain rpm range. And if I disconnect them I’m pretty sure the cel light will turn on. I already have a Christmas tree on the instrument cluster 🤣🤣🤣.
